I'm a new guy here. I am not new to HOT RODS. I've been building cars for over 45 years. I've always wanted to build a hot rod say 49 GMC p/u with a 500 cady and standard shift. Say a early GM 4 speed. Can this be done. I know Its easier to use A/T but where would be the chalange. Any help ???
Thanks Charlie

I have been building hotrods for about 45 years. I'm wanting to do somthing different. I would like to install a 500 cady with stick shift in my 49 GMC p/u. I was told this can't be done. Thats why I'm here. Over the years I've found that very little (CAN'T BE DONE)
Thanks Charlie
I use a BOP bell housing, a custom flywheel (std ring gear), adapter plate to mount a Chrysler trans. The hardest thing is machining the back of the crank for a piolt bushing and the long Chrysler shaft needs cut off also.
I would never do it again and do not recommend it.
