View Full Version : Scored at the AutoShow in Chicago bobs-sts-v 02-17-07, 06:33 PM So I am walking through the vendor area, thoroughly disgusted that no one had any rims with a 6 lug pattern. I walk past the IDOT booth, and they have the computers up with the personalized plates screen. So I jokingly ask the guy to check the tag " STS V 1 ", fully expecting someone to have already grabbed it. 5 seconds later the guy says, "Congradulations. It's available. Now all you need is the car." To which I replied "It's in the lot outside. Sign me up for that plate." 5 minutes later, it's all done except for the waiting. Should be here in about 2 weeks. The best part is, I didn't even have to waste 2 hours at the IL DMV filling out paperwork. Just goes to show you - IT NEVER HURTS TO ASK!!
Bob Falkolade 02-18-07, 06:09 PM maybe i am way outta the loop... but is the 1 at the end supposed to be like air force 1 or something??? Kadonny 02-19-07, 03:04 PM Very cool. BobNice:thumbsup: how did u like the show? personally I thought american companies represented themselves well. The new Jaguars are very impressive as well. Did u think it was goofy how jaguar was so far away from all the other luxery cars though? nickc50310 02-20-07, 11:36 AM Hih Bob, have you checked out the thread about the national cadillac owners meet in Des Moines?? Lots of people coming. Should be the biggest meet ever. Alot of Chicago folks coming out also. Link is in my sig and I sent you a PM. Hope to see you there! Mine is simpler to read, but that`s because we can`t get the plates as in the US.

Harry, I really like your Euro spec STS-V! One question though. Since you are in Germany, how do your tail lights light up? I assume that your turning signals are amber? Most German cars I know have separate brake lights and running lights. How is this handled on the STS? I'd love to see a picture of the tail lights lit up if you would care to share.
Thanks,
Dale Hemrick
Cary, NC I got a custom plate too :D
