What do the shifter bushings offered by lindsay do exactly??? Can someone explain what the results are? smoother shift? I just would like to know what they do before I buy them....also do they minimze the grinding gear noise which is amplified by the stalk? Thanks

Sorry Jarret but I have to write this! Do you mean to tell me that you never ever read the threads about these bushings? I don't even have a shifter, and don't want one either, and I have read 10 threads on this issue!!!
If you search the threads you will find many on 'bushings' but real quickly, everyone says you MUST have them with any shifter for less slopiness, simple! I thought they lessened the noise too but I guess that is the mat stuff they put around the shifter under the boot. Good day Jarret and easy on the wheel guy ay!

The bushings guide the shifting linkage(s) from the shifter to the tranny. The OEM bushings are soft and can deteriorate after time, which means the linkages can move around in the bushings and create a sloppy feel. The Lindsay bushings are much stiffer, so a more "crisp" feel. While the stiffer bushings theoretically could pass more vibration back to the shifter, I haven't noticed it.
If you see the rubber bushings they replace you know they are going to take all the rubber feel the shifter has out , the uuc shifter did not hurt either.

When I heard about certain problems here and there, possibly noise unless you did this or that, I actually sold the shifter I had. It was a B&M and I never even installed it! Na na...na na na! :bouncy: I like the no noise shifter and I am so used to the callous's on my knuckles and elbow that I wouldn't trade them for the world! LOL
