I always liked the looks of the '95-99 Monte Carlos..kinda like the poor man's Eldorado, but I always thought they needed more power..the L36 200hp 3800 and 210hp Twin Cam 3.4 V6's were ok for power, but nothing great and the 3.1 was adequate. Now here's a cool idea, install a 300hp L37 Northstar from a '96 STS in a '95 Monte that originally came with the Twin Cam 3.4 and bam! A low 14 second FWD Monte that would also be a total sleeper!

13:1 compression with those cams and side exit exhaust... I have a video of it idling and revving saved somewhere, it sounds truly bad ass.

Hahah, that Northstar is a more reliable engine than the 3.4 Twin Cam that initially came in it.
