I was coming home today from work and experienced a bad vibration after putting car into 6th gear at around 80 mph. I did a search and found some tranny replacements for this prob. but I also saw a TSB for '04 and '05 cars. Is there a TSB for 2006 V's with this vibration problem?

I've got a thread on page two about this. But mine's an '04.

The dealer tried to re-align my driveshaft as well as rebalance it, and it did nothing, so my new tranny is on the way...

Kind of a pain, but rather have it happen now than after the warranty is up.

Looks like a few people have had this problem. Hopefully my dealer will be aware of a TSB for this and not waste time with quick fixes.

Define bad for me? Is it something that the passenger can feel or only in the driver seat?

I didn't notice it until a passenger in the back seat said that I had a real bad exhaust drone...

Hmmm, I had a similiar issue that GM wouldn't replace (had a tech out), they did extend the warranty for me out to 100k on it though... I don't have any drone though.

Still annoys the shit out of me.

Define bad for me? Is it something that the passenger can feel or only in the driver seat? Seemed to be throughout the car. Passenger should have noticed. There was a decrease in acceleration as well. Is there a speed governer? I may have north of 100mph when I pulled 6th gear.

2005 CTS-V. I've got the same vibration in 6th too-starts at about 70 mph. Dealer can't find problem.
Any advice what to tell dealer based on what y'all have discovered?

Look at commander112's thread. He's gonna get a new tranny.

new tranny or a reindexing of the driveshaft will fix the problem... most likely a tranny.

Yup, but my ride is an 05.

It's easy to isolate whether it's a transmission problem or not... When your driving and you feel the vibration, downshift to 5th gear... If the vibration goes away or is mostly gone away then it's more than likely the transmission...

No TSB for a 2006... Only for 2004 - 2005...

Doesn't mean that you don't have a transmission concern... You need to take it in and get it looked at...
