Anyone have any luck playing MP3's from CD or DVD on the factory NAV system? I have only tried CD's with no luck in MP3 format. I CANNOT believe that they would put in a high end unit with XM satellite radio and the works and leave out the ability to play MP3's from CD or DVD. I will be able to excuse this oversight if one were able to play audio .wav files from DVD's. Anyone tried this yet? Anyone try to burn DVD's with MP3 files and use them? I don't have a DVD burner yet, but want to know what model to get if anyone had had any luck since the results in playback seem to vary between each DVD burner manufacturer.:hmm:

The CTS stereo does not have MP3 playback capability. And the '05 won't either.
Seems strange not to have that capability when a Saturn radio stereo does.

Perhaps they misjudged their market base a bit and did not figure people in the typical Cadillac base would be interested. And the exclusion of this was just a carryover from the rest of their lineup?

that's what i'm thinkin'. Cadillac probably thought most people who own one are in their 40's and up wouldn't know what an MP3 player is or how to make a disc containing MP3's. On Saturns and other small economic cars the MP3 is a must for the younger generation because most of the sales come from young adults.
thats just my thoery.

:annoyed: Ooh, that hurts! I'm an ancient 47 and not only do I know what an MP3 player is, but I even know how to rip a CD! Wow! And now I, like just about every CTS owner on this board, am looking for a way to install a line-level input so I can hook up my 40 Gig iPod (yes, this codger actually has one) to the CD-nav Bose system.
So just watch it, sonny! :p

yeah, sorry if i offended you but thats probably what Cadillac was thinking. they might have figured most wouldn't use it so they just cut it out of their costs.
