View Full Version : Old Man checkin in..Hi Sal! ljklaiber 01-30-07, 03:56 PM Just my update on 95Seville at 202444 miles. I am restoring an 84 Porsche..Model S with a 4.7 litre V8. Neat ride.
I chase parts and beat on the ol Seville and make runs on I95, South and North for parts and such. She doesn't use oil..She never complains...Ain't jealous and just strolls on.
Northy is as good as ANY engine ever built. JMO!
Time runnin' out for me Sal, but your Caddy site is my FAV!
Regards to ALL.. enjoy yer ride! Good to hear from you again ljklaiber. Hopefully you have lots of time left. TripleblackETC 01-31-07, 09:47 AM 200,000 miles on a N* is music to my ears. I hope mine makes it that far. ljklaiber 01-31-07, 01:27 PM NO, never dynoed except on the big black interstate. NS is one fine engine. Porsche 928 V8 is very similar to NS (4.7 L single OHC) ,but is all Aluminum. Neat Car!
The young man is also right about Honda engines. Excellent! I bought my wife an Accord EX coupe with V6 and it is a beauty.
The bottom line is that guys like me are old school, but we are not NO school.
My modified 95 sls will roll the blacktop as well as many. MODS did not hurt reliability. That was my point.
Enjoy your ride!!:) AlBundy 01-31-07, 04:34 PM I remember your name from some of the archive disscussion. Glad to see the engine do well. urbanski 02-01-07, 09:12 AM cleaned up a bit, ahh thats better Cadillacboy 02-01-07, 09:34 AM LOL, I thought this was a new thread .

I just found my way back to see if any of the old crew was still onboard. Good to know you are still around the site! Best to ya Bro! Wait a minute..it this the tattered remnants of what was the "N* to 200k miles...ect" thread? I guess I've been living under a rock for the past week or two...oh well.
ljklaiber, good to see the 'ole Caddy still runs like a top. dkozloski 02-04-07, 04:48 PM ljklaiber is not one to toot his own horn so for those of you who don't know, LJ was a headflow specialist and backup engine builder for a successful NASCAR team for years. After the failure of the primary engine, his engine was put in the race winning car of Benny Parsons in the 600 mile race at Charlotte in 1980. The list of engine builders who have won that race is short. No restrictor plates here and the engines wailed for 600 miles. There are some pretty famous engine builders that would like to be on that list that aren't. Anything he tells you, you can take it to the bank. LJKlaiber; one of the good old boys. I did not know that. Thanks for sharing Koz. I'm duly impressed. :worship: |
