Well in SoCal that should be easy!! LOL. Hang out with Spanish-speaking individuals and don't let them speak English to you. Try to think in Spanish. xxpinballxx 01-30-07, 11:42 AM Rosetta stone is a great one but expensive to learn it to the point of using spanish fluently.
rosetta stone is used by alot of companies and even some government agencies.
By little brother is a border patrol agent and used it in the beginning but then changed over to the technique of only speaking spanish....24/7.
Best way to learn I think is be around someone who speaks it and make them say everything in spanish and then in english. I did this at my store. They hired 22 puerto ricans to open an inner city store that is in the heart of little puerto rico in cleveland. I learned more then than in the five years of taking spanish in highschool and college. yourgmsolutions 01-30-07, 12:09 PM Well in SoCal that should be easy!! LOL. this is so true.
when I came to US. did not speak a word in English.
start hang out with Americans, now I speak English.
never went to school, or took any English classes.
the only problem for me is pronunciation, and I always messing up V and W xxpinballxx 01-30-07, 12:12 PM good thing you didn't go to the dealership asking to test drive a CTS-W RobertCTS 01-30-07, 12:34 PM I took 3 years of spanish but you find out it's not really conversational spanish. Mexicans speak the lanquage so fast I can't translate and keep up.:nono: yourgmsolutions 01-30-07, 12:35 PM good thing you didn't go to the dealership asking to test drive a CTS-W
:histeric: that was a good one
actually, kind of funny thing was, we were the only white ppl in our first American neighborhood. our black neighbors were our first teachers. me and my wife were speaking english like the guy from "Malibu most wanted" but with strong Russian accent xxpinballxx 01-30-07, 12:39 PM LOL! that does paint a funny picture..... RunningOnEMT 01-30-07, 12:45 PM I learned spanish from total immersion, i worked as a prep chef at a restaurant (only thing that allowed early morning and late night split shifts while i was in college) i worked with a bunch of non english speaking guys, learned really quickly... now i cook in spanish ... lol
i used rosetta stone to learn farsi for fun, i got a coupon for a free 2 level course and couldnt think of anythingelse i would like to learn
if you can drop the coin (~$400.00) for both levels of the rosetta stone you'll have a really good base to start learning conversational language. kali_cts03 01-30-07, 08:17 PM come to think of it I guess I heard of this Rosetta program on TV.....
thanks everyone for the input..... EcSTSatic 01-30-07, 09:17 PM Shouldn't this thread be in Spanish? As Strother Martin would say (http://koti.mbnet.fi/badbee/wavs/commu.wav).... 90Brougham350 01-30-07, 10:35 PM When I started learning Latin online a few weeks ago, I just typed in "learn latin online free" in google. Surprisingly enough, the internet has a lot of decent stuff for free. Check around, you might find some decent stuff with just a few clicks. yourgmsolutions 01-31-07, 03:16 AM Shouldn't this thread be in Spanish?
