Curious if this is possible or requires a visit to the dealership.

Thanks

There is a way to view codes on the NAV screen but nobody has had a code yet to see if they are limited to Entertainment system codes or collect all of the systems. Do you have a Check Engine Light?

I did awhile back. I plugged a cell phone charger into the cig lighter and the check engine light came on. Then all my systems would reboot while I was driving. It was really crazy.

So watch out for cheap phone chargers :)

There are many aftermarket code readers that will work if you want to make an investment.
There is no on board way I know of to check codes. Yes crummy phone chargers can really cause problems on some new cars, especially the ones with the keyless starting systems like STS.
