View Full Version : My kitty is missing... Havn't seen him in just over a day. Weird thing is, I don't know how the hell he could have gotten outside. I live upstairs and am always very careful when I go in and out of the house but I can't seem to find him anywhere. I've been driving all over the place on all the nearby roads, even went so far as to drive back to the old house I moved out of two months ago too look for any sign of him. Getting kind of worried now... lawfive 01-26-07, 10:06 PM Hopefully he got locked in a closet or somthing; check 'em all. Leave food and water outside just in case. Hope you find him. :( TomDeville 01-26-07, 10:13 PM I am sorry to hear that Spyder.
Leave the door open when you
can; moreover, flashlight around
outside tonight and look for the
flash on his eyes.
Take out the catnip; and, run the
canopener too.
I trust that we all hope for the best.
Kindest Regards,
TomDeville
:cool2: :cool2: CadillacGurl 01-26-07, 10:23 PM I'm sorry Spyder. Check under couches, beds, and chairs... the flashlight thing Tom said will probably work. Just watch out for the racoons or any wildlife if you leave food outside. TomDeville 01-26-07, 10:28 PM I vehemently dislike racoons.
:cool2: Sorry to hear about that, really hope you find him. When one of my cats gets outside, I open up a can of tuna and leave it outside by the door. CadillacSTS2003 01-27-07, 12:11 AM poor kitty... dkozloski 01-27-07, 02:04 AM Our cat disappeared for more than a week. My dad went in the walk-in freezer in the basement and found him in there since the last time he got something. He was just fine but happy to be out. I had a cat that routinely disappeared for days at a time. She would return smelling like marijuana. Better than crack, I guess, eh?
Still no word on the cat. Beginning to worry. I lost one and found him the next day in the top of the linen closet. Check everything twice, he's probably in the house in someplace you've forgotten.;) codewize 01-27-07, 11:18 AM Do you own or rent? Landlord? Keep looking. recheck the house. Are there any small spaces he could get caught in? Cat's do strange things and they WILL go back to an old house so keep looking there too.
If you're pretty sure he didn't get out keep searching the house. Under things over things etc.
Good luck, sorry to hear. gdwriter 01-27-07, 04:24 PM James, I'm awfully sorry to hear this. Please keep us posted.
I noticed nobody has suggested this before (or I missed it). But check with your local animal shelter. Somebody may have found your cat and turned him in. Does he have a collar? Tag? Chip?
Hoover has a collar and was chipped by the shelter before I got him. Pepper hates wearing her collar, so I've taken it off for now, but she's an indoor-only cat. AlBundy 01-27-07, 05:31 PM My 21year old cat disappeared for 3 yrs and then suddenly returned. I came in at about 2:30am and he was on the porch, come to find out the house 5 doors down had catnaped him and tried to make him a house cat. The minute he had an opportunity he escaped and came back home. Sorry I hope you find him/her. My 21year old cat disappeared for 3 yrs and then suddenly returned. 21 years old... that's awesome. One of our cats right now is 17 and we're surprised he's still alive. The average cat lifespan is 14 years. AlBundy 01-27-07, 05:39 PM 21 years old... that's awesome. Yes, my niece is 22, I got the cat a year after she was born.:bouncy: dkozloski 01-27-07, 07:51 PM You don't own a cat. They tolerate you. When they decide to pick out a different family they're gonzo. He's back.
Was getting up and ready for work this morning, went online and checked the local animal shelter website. They actually post pictures, daily, of any animals that were turned into them the day before. No go. Got dressed, shaved, went to open the front door and heard a meow. Opened said door and there he was, curled up in the old dirty T-shirt and jacket I had left outside for him to find, thinking that he'd maybe recognize the scent if he came wandering by looking for his home.
Funny thing is, he didn't seem to be hungry or thirsty or anything. I'm guessing that some young kid found him and fed him for two days before he re-escaped and came back.
I still have no idea how he got out, but oh well, he's back now and sleeping on my pillow. :) TomDeville 01-27-07, 08:46 PM Great News!!:highfive:
:cool2: By the way...you guys can see pictures of him on the Caturday thread. Page one, I believe. The head shot is more "him" than the one with the other cat... :) He's well known among my friends. Most have scars from him but love him anyways. Glad to hear that, nothing beats that feeling of relief when you see your cat again. RightTurn 01-27-07, 09:20 PM Yay! Lady Danielle 01-27-07, 09:24 PM Im so happy for you..I hate missing my kitties. codewize 01-27-07, 10:27 PM Wow great news. I'm glad to hear hes back and safe at home. gdwriter 01-28-07, 03:34 AM Phew! That's a relief. Very good idea you had to leave a shirt out so he'd catch your scent. The missing poosycat problem is pleasantly put to pasture! I~LUV~Caddys8792 01-28-07, 12:55 PM Did he come back on CATurday or Sunday? Hahaha...if COULD have been Caturday. It was early Sunday morning when I went out and found him on my coat. :) I~LUV~Caddys8792 01-28-07, 01:10 PM Oh, well either way it's good that he's back, but that would have been the best Caturday ever! lawfive 01-28-07, 01:28 PM Yay! My kitty is purring in relief.
(To be honest, it may be because I just gave her some canned cat food...) |
