As some of you may know Ms. DS and I are in the very long and irritating process of getting a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend. This has been our third court appearance and the ******* hasn't showed up for two of those appearances. How many times must we drag our corpses to court before we finally get our restraining order? This is starting to get really frustrating and repetitive. Is it legal to just kill the ******* myself?

*Huff*

... not if he breaks into your home ;)

JUST KIDDING!

I don't know much about restraining orders.
Wouldn't the fact that he is not showing up to court bear on the judge's decision? I'd think that he would have the guy arrested!?

A good beating until he pisses blood goes a long way to solving these kind of things.

How frustrating. I'm surprised that the judge won't issue the order whether the moron shows up or not. Sorry I don't have any advice, Dope. If you have the ability, just kick his ass and put your boot on his neck. Good luck.

Going to court sucks. sorry bud.

Do you dress goth when you go to court or do you wear a tie?

Haha! Well, I do both. I pull off a dressy goth look for holidays and court appearances that consists of a black shirt, a silver tie, and a snakeskin coat......

I was told that after a certain amount of time if he continues to fail to show up or they have trouble finding him to serve him with the dates the judge just finalizes the order without him being present and if he wants to dispute it, he has to file his own court dates for us to come in. I'm just curious as to how many visits it has to be before this happens.

We've had three appearances already. The first one he showed up but they didn't get around to taking our case. The second visit he didn't show up, so they sent his court date via certified mail. This time we were told he wasn't found at his current address (We believe he's living with his new punching bag/girlfriend at the moment) to serve the papers so they're now looking for him all over again. They said it would be relisted as a "Final Hearing." An officer told me we should give a copy of our papers to the police in his town and they'll keep an eye out for him. Then he told us the judge might just finalize it without him if they continue to fail to find him or if he continues to not show up. I'm wondering if you skip a certain amount of court appearances for anything that you'd get arrested. Makes sence don't it? I would just like this nightmare to be over with so we can get our permenant protection. He's not dangerous at all, I stand a good 9 inches taller than him. This is mostly so he can't harass us, if he showed up in person you'd better believe I'd bury the nearest blunt object into the base of his skull.....
