Two quick questions from a newbie:


My steering wheel is dry rotted from the sun. Will any Cadillac steering wheel interchange with the Allante? The script on the airbag just says Cadillac, so I suspect they are all interchangable, but I would like a definative answer. (After all, buying a steering wheel off of an Allante will probably cost much more than buying one off of a conventional Cadillac).

Second, I have a red '90 1/2. My question is, did Cadillac use the same color red on all of it's years. The reason I'm asking is, if I were to find a red hardtop off of a (say) 1988, would it match the red of the 1990 1/2 body?

The paint code should be the same, however there were some maroon(sp) Allantes and they would be different. Check the paint codes just to make sure. Not too expensive to re-paint just the top. I had mine re-painted when I bought it and I dyed the headliner. Looks great!

There are some posts on the AAG site about the steering wheels being re-done, and they turned out fine. Can't remember who did it, but if I can locate the thread I will point you in the right direction.
