I just read on autoblog.com that GM has commited to investing $300 million into the engine plant in NY. The plan is to develop and build a new DOHC V8 for their "luxury" vehicles. If that doesn't say new V8 for Cadillac then my name is Bugs Bunny.

So, a new DI V6 with 300 Hp and a new DOHC V8 on the way.:worship:

Now we're talking. Go Caddy! :caddy:

I think the Domestic brands are finally catching on. :usflag:Made in the USA!

Yep, it's coming because the Northstar is actually getting up in age--despite revisions--and is a bit more complex and expensive to make than something similar they can do today. The new V8 is known by a few different names, but should see main duty first in all the vehicles currently with Northstars, and then spread elsewhere in limited number.

I haven't heard anything else about this new engine in a while. Has anyone heard what the status of production is? Rumors? Anything?

How about the big question! Horsepower? If the V-6 has 300, the V-8 has got to have at least 375 to make it all worth it. Can't wait!
