My low beams are HID's. When I turn them on in the driveway I can see them "warm up", incandescents don't do that.

Your high beams are regular lights...

ON the CTS-V, the low beams are HID, the high beams are incandescent. The "warm up" for the HIDs is very short. The purpose of the high-voltage supply with HIDs is to minimize the turn-on-time. Without the high-voltage, the turn-on-time would be excessively long.

HID low, regular lights on high.
