Reminds me of the flea climbing up the leg of the elephant with rape on his mind.

For $23,000, how about more than two micro-sized pictures?

One of them looks like an old pic of mine. Course I bought my car for 7500.

I had a black 1995 Fleetwood Brougham. It was nice, but did not have the overall quality of the "Art and Science" cars. There was lots of cheap plastic inside and it had a very Impala like dash.

It rode well and was peppy, but handled poorly, with the steering wheel "suggesting" changes in course.

In black, it looked a bit like a Washington D.C. official car. Now I wish I still had it, if it is as valuable as the one in the ad.

So if I buy it now and never drive it how much would it be worth 30 years from now at Barrett Jackson?. Well hmm, the car is 10 years old now so add another 30 and it will be 40 years old. What would a 1967 Fleetwood with 11k miles be worth at Barret Jackson now?. Probably not a whole lot. Definately not worth keeping it mint for another 30 years in hopes of maybe getting your initial investment back. Better off sticking it in a bank even with low interest.

WOW!

Literally, just last week. I passed on a 15K mile Fleetwood. 1 owner, every record and sticker price ($43.5K MSRP), all options including chrome wheels, factory moonroof, etc... ALL FOR $12,000!

I offered the guy $10.5K (all I had), and he refused. He sold it that week for $12K.

So yeah, $23K is WAY out of line.

Yep, he's a bit out of line! :) I thought all the low mileage Fleetwoods were gone! I'd like to have one someday, but figured they'd all have high miles 10 years or so from when they were built! But I guess not.

Well, I can see the logic. A lot of people are still passing low mileage Impala SS's for that kind of money to this day, and being that the Fleetwood was a better and more expensive car in a lot of ways, it technically could be worth that much.

Problem is, there's also a few out there with similar "barely used" Fleetwoods who sell them in the $9-13k range, so the chances of selling at double that are rare.

Love the colors, though (;) ), and it does look like a nice car. That said, I wouldn't pay that much...love a lot about these things, but there's nothing about them to warrant so much money.

Exactly. It's still a bit of a museum car, at least to me, but just won't ever fetch that much. When people buy one of these cars, they pretty much always want the best they can get for nothing--myself included. Otherwise, they just aren't that great of a car to be worth gazillions, which is what still makes no sense about Impala SS's to me...but that whole topic has been beat to death.

Then again, you never know. Maybe someone will buy it...

Pie in the sky, if you ask me. I missed on a chance for a triple black one at the dealer ... dealer sold it and maintained it. $10.5k. Though the mileage was more like 35k.

Yeah, how funny is that!

Got more info on the Midwest Meet thread--check it out, Brian.

The Impala still hasn't hit bottom yet from what I've seen, contrary to what people said about two years ago when you could get Impys for 10K.
I know people who have purchased Impys for $3000-5000 (high mileage and beat up, albeit). Most Impys are in the $8K range now, except for the really low mileage cars or highly modified ones in which the owner is trying to get back as much as he put into it as possible.

The Fleetwood is in the same $8K range for the most part, except for extreme examples like the one this thread is about. I still wouldn't expect this one to go for more than $13K, and that would still be outrageous (but I could see someone paying that much).

I don't plan on paying more than $10,000 for mine in a few years, and it will have less than 60,000 miles. I should be able to find something.
