I am going to have the windows tinted next week on my STS, and would like a few suggestions. Car is light platinum. Florida law says 28% light transmittance needed for front, 15% everywhere else. The tint shop recommended to tint it exactly as law states, but then windows on front and rear door will not match, not sure I like that. I am considering 28% on all door windows, 15% for back window. Any recommendations, pics of your STS with tint, etc.?
Thanks a ton.
Oops, my options are 35% and 15%, 28% tint does not exist as far as I know.

I run Madico CH-35 Ceramic all around on my Light Plat STS and it is perfect to contrast the body lines without being too dark.
I tested higher (and lower) films as well and as Goldilocks said this percentage was "just right".
Here in Cal. tint is not allowed on the fronts at all which leads to some pretty ugly jobs (rears only) but I have found that a medium grade is received better by LE and have several friends that are CHP/local LE that say internal policy is to only cite if it is too dark and/or if you are being written for other infractions at the officers discretion.
The risk is having to pull the front tint and re-apply later which to me is better than no tint or a different percentage front/back.
So far after two STS's over 2 years the risk/reward ratio has been in my favor...
Here is on old post with some pics of my final tint:

Limo all the way around, fcuk the fines. It looks awesome, especially on Lt. Platinum. :alchi:
Had 35% all around put on. Looks great! Actually looks darker than I thought it would, probably due to black interior.

I almost edited my post to let you know it would look darker based both on the interior color and the fact that looking in profile you are looking through two layers of film (both sides of car).
I'm glad you like your look!

Very nice (and familiar!).
Hopefully they did a good job on/around the dot matrix section on the rear glass as well.

you should of put 20% all the way around..thats what i have..and they seem just the same as your 35's maybe b/c of the sunlight..how is it holding up with the sun rays

Well since he already did it advising him he should have done it otherwise seems a little pointless. Especially if it looks near the same as yours as you say...:)
Not exactly sure what you mean by the "sun rays" but my 05's tint after 11 months through the summer held up fine as has the 9 months so far on my 06. No bubbling, peeling, cracking etc. and even with the all black interior I find it to keep the car in reasonable temp even during 110 degree days and left for 6 hours in the mid-day sun as compared to previous rides.
Of course the tint material as well as the quality of the install impact this so YMMV.
Hope you are enjoying your ride regardless of its light transmittance percentage...:bouncy:
I am really happy with 35% all around. It is not too light. At night can still actually see decently, which is great because I drive in the dark most of the time. Rearview mirror autodim still works with 35 but not quite as sensitive. I dont think it would work with any darker though.
