Here are the instructions for getting into the diagnostic mode of the STS and STS-V navigation/audio/video system.

Use at your own risk...

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j248/ssstealth/STS-V/P1010034.jpg Press the "MENU" button while in the navigation mode.

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j248/ssstealth/STS-V/P1010035.jpg Next to the header, press and hold in the center of the screen as shown for about 5-7 seconds.

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j248/ssstealth/STS-V/P1010036.jpg When the keypad appears, enter "9448" and then press "OK".

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j248/ssstealth/STS-V/P1010039.jpg You will then be presented with 2 pages of options.

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j248/ssstealth/STS-V/P1010037.jpg This should answer any questions that there is a gyro on board because on this screen you can read the signals from it.

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j248/ssstealth/STS-V/P1010038.jpg How comfortable does it make you feel about our government when 12 satellites can see you inside your garage?

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j248/ssstealth/STS-V/P1010041.jpg The hard switch test is pretty cool.

There are more as well. I would suggest being especially careful with "Ship Mode" and the touch screen calibration.

No, I did not find the code for unlocking DVD view while out of park or the one to allow my passenger to imput stuff while driving.

Does anyone know the NAV Diagnostic PIN for a 2008 STS.

I get to the keypad screen but when I enter PIN 9448 I get kicked back to the first menu screen.

Thanks in advance.

I had no clue that the 9448 would not work for newer years but it makes sense I guess. The DeVille used 1791 forever so that may be worth a try. As I recall, I found the 9448 code on a Corvette or SRX forum. There were actually several codes that worked but some locked you into diag mode until the car was restarted.

Also note before you just start plugging away at 0001 that someone had got into the code and found that the system allowed for up to a six digit pin.

660 popped up a menu with alot more things in it on mine.

What other menu options were available when you typed in '660'?

P.S. DO NOT do this while driving. It locks up your unit until you shut off the car. What ever volume you have it on will lock up and you can do anything.

Don't ask how I know:bigroll:

Anyone know if you can get the Radio ID, (NOT XM) from the diagnostic screen ?
Vice: removing the radio and reading it OFF the back of unit.
i.e. A number like 10377613 or 15256169 or 15233578 or 15793847 ?:thumbsup::cool::cool:

any way to unlock the dvd player via this menu, like the CTS-V's can?

If you mean to watch movies while moving, you have to have the Lockpick:
