You aren't going to find many good jobs "dropping in" for the weekend. Have you pulled the FL area classifieds? Got a resume?

I'm a little farther north, Melbourne. Still on the East Coast. Titusville/Mims is pretty cheap, and there's a number of Space Center related type jobs. You could also head to Orlando, though the crime lately has gotten bad.

I'm married. :)

In West Palm Beach, there are a TON (MANY, MANY) car dealerships.. You could probably get something at one of them. Even if it's just temporary until you find what you really want to do...

tamps, st pete, treasure island, orlando, daytona, fort myers, jacksonville, been to all of them places i need to just find a job down there temp. or something so i can find something i really wanna do or whatever. ended up leaving my job up here for a few different reasons so i kinda need a job asap to pay two car payments, bike payment ect. As far as a resume yes i have one i was with the same construction company up here for 6 yrs since i was 13 so.

Construction in much of FL has subsided. There is still plenty going on though and there are always places that you can work day-by-day, such as temp agencies.

Just convoy in with all the plates from MINN, NY, JY, Mass, Ohio, and Canada - but they will be moving slow and you will only see knuckles on the steering wheels.

It's also hard getting a job in florida, because a lot of the mexican culture has takin a big part of the labor intensive jobs. You see like one white guy bossing all the mexicans around...there is A LOT here!!! Good luck!!

My advice.. Come down, get a crappy job, send resumes everywhere for construction.. Florida is so busy being build-up and there are nowhere near enough people to do the work. If you're looking for work in either construction or highway, you'll have no problem.

Its not going to be the cake walk you think it is I promise you that. I'm in the Tampabay area. Over the next few months I will need to hire some help for the car business I will be starting. I'll be shifting from real estate to cars for awhile.

Lol, you couldnt pay me enough to live in Florida! I just got back from FT Myers last week. Place is hotter than the surface of the sun! Sadly, I was thrilled when i got off the plane to 40 degree weather back home! I love Florida but not enough to live there!

Next time Im in Florida Ill be visiting some of you Floridians that hang around these parts! Including you Big King Sal!

Sandwich action, huh? Only if the third party is a woman! :p

Oh, come on! You can't hate the hot weather! The women don't wear clothes here in the Summer! You can't beat THAT!

And yes.. We shall be having some meets here this Spring/Summer - and whenever.. In West Palm Beach and Tampa.. Soon!

And with me being sick and injured the past few months (yes, months) - I'm looking more like Little Queen Sally than Big King Sal.. I'm down to 230 (from 260).

Hey Melbourne, I had family in Eau Gallie years ago, on the Indian River, I haven't been there since the 70's I hear it's kinda gone down hill.

Right now is not a good time to come down here looking for construction work. All premit pulling is down 30%. There is a lot of construction crews getting into the service industry looking for work.

What skills do you have. Framing, roofing, drywall, concrete block, electrical, tile, plumbing, A/C, etc?

South melbourne has been going downhill some, but north melbournes been going somewhat upscale.

Update.

All those wishing to move to Florida and become a resident will be responsible for joining a road crew and paving 1 mile of a new highway lane on their choice of I-75, I-275, I-4, or I-95.

Florida will supply, at no charge to you: 1 Orange Vest.

Thank you.
