Hey, I just stepped over from the world of Hondas.. Im a little surprised to know somebody here is actually working on tunes for our cars..

I figured the newer cads would have some engine management potential.. but the 4.1? is there potential? are people hacking the ecu and making fuel maps? it would be pretty cool to get a little more pep out of the lackluster 4.1

I figured it would be all about "old school" hot rodding.. swappin carbs.. and doing engine work.. or swaps.. but if you can change the maps a bit, and maybe the shift points for the tranny.. that would be really cool..

Ive got an 85 fleetwood.. whats the good word on tuning it?

Currently I don't think there is any tuning abilities for it. It IS very possible, but someone would need to read the .bin file from the PROM and have someone dissect it.

Currently the 90-93 L05 350's are tunable, the 90-93 L03's (305's) and the 94-95 LT1's. The tuning program is TunerProRT or TunerCat. I use TunerCat (www.tunercat.com). I don't know if a definition file has been created for the 4.1L/4.5L/4.9L yet, but I haven't seen one. If you are into playing, you can work on creating one. It isn't simple plug and play, or someone would have done it by now. Being I don't have a car with that engine, I can't play.

Only the 94-up RWD Cadillacs had a tunable transmission. The 91-up FWD's do also. But no tuning for the FWD yet.

It is doable, but willl take some time. There is one company who does offer tuning for the 4.x V8s, but I don't remember who. I don't know what they can do for it. I am surprised no one has hacked it by now. But I guess the hackers don't drive Cadillacs!

I'm working on a solution for hacking the 4.x series engines. Stay tuned!
