I have a 2003 CTS. Won't start - turns over but will not stay running. Had it towed twice to dealer and of course, it started right up each time for them.Anybody else experience similiar problem. Someone mentioned the fuel pump????
It's sounds like it's not getting enough fuel. I would guess fuel pump as well but I don't know of anyone else that had this problem. It could be the fuel injectors too. What type of gas do you rub(brand name) and what octane do you use? I normally run 89 octane but throw 93 in there every once in awhile to flush the system. Also with some of the newer cars, if you don't ge on the car(nail it) every once in awhile the injectors can get dirty and have to build up to them. Good luck and try a new dealership if you can. Mine did that once. It turns and runs, but when I leave it park for a short period of time, it wouldnt want to start. So i took it to the dealer and they said it was the battery. They gave me a brand new one, and ever since then, it started like the first time I got in, smooth!!!!

I had a similar problem on my 2003 CTS where the car would intermittently crank but not fire, then after waiting 10-15 minutes it would start with no problem. I originally thought it was not getting fuel, however, when I checked the pressure was OK. The problem was a faulty crank position sensor which the dealership was charging $350 to replace, but I bought the part for about $40 and replaced it myself.

The dealer just called and it finally did NOT start for them after sitting there for 2 days. It was the Crank Sensor. Thankfully I have an extended warranty and it is covered except for my $100 deductible.

You can buy a crank sensor at autozone for 25 bucks and put it in within 2 minutes, I love the extended warranty deductibles its like free money for these compnaies...
