My buddy's brougham died last week. Crushed... Has a new engine and tranny in it. Was a very clean car.

Wtf happened that a light was knocked over & a car was at a 90? All the accident scene pic is missing is the water from the hydrant & a stray dog. :alchi:

Wow, was your friend ok?

01-07-07, 09:17 PM
what DID happen?

01-07-07, 09:20 PM
Oh my God. I'm sorry.

My buddy was at work, his car parked safely in the parking lot. On the street, someone wrecked into a car, bounced off that, and nailed a 40ft light pole. That pole fell onto my buddy's car aas he was heading out the door to make his drive home. He was rather surprised to see that happen... His car was parked... noone in it...

The way the rear tires on the black car are dug into the ground, it appears that the driver had the gas pedal floored. Hope that your friend is OK.. I would assume so, since they didn't cut the car up to get him out.
If he is going to part the car out, there are a few things that I might be interested in buying from him. Send me a PM if that is the case... Junk....

Holly crap what a shame. Another classic gone.:helpless: Please give him our regards.

That has to be some site while walking to your car to go home from work. The worst part is that black car looks like some un-cared for POS Ford product. Look at the brake dust on the front wheel.

Is he going to part it out?

01-07-07, 10:13 PM
I think it's actually that dark gray/bronze color, not black. And it looks like a Grand Marquis, just observing. :)

If I saw someone do that to my car I'd drag them outta theirs and beat the shit outta them. That's awful. Just awful. The other guy better be insured six ways from sunday.

Wow, a sad and odd death for the FWB (83 or 84?) But it's good to hear your friend is ok.

01-08-07, 12:01 AM
It's post '84 because it has the winged crests under the headlights, and the rub strips and interior look like an '89?

01-08-07, 12:27 AM
89. As for why he didnt beat the guy, downed power line between them. As for parting out, have to see what the ins co does on totalling it out.

That Hurts My Heart

Rip Car

That is one big ass pole, the FWB took it pretty well and if someone was in it they probably would've survived.

And yes the Grand Marquis' wheels are that color, it's not brake dust.

Do NOT let them total it out if it has a new engine and trans and is new. If they try, take KBB and add the cost of the engine and trans to it, plus labour, then press them all the way to the bank. KBB for that car is $3220; new engine and trans had to set you back at least $4000; don't accept anything less than $7,000 for it.

Man what are the chances of that happening? Glad no one was hurt. Hate to see the Brougham take one for the team.

01-08-07, 08:44 AM
Oh man this is hard to look at. Other people suck! I feel bad for your friend, I can't imagine losing my Brougham.

My buddy has all his receipts and so forth for his upgrades. New paint, new trany, new motor, radio, etc. He's also got some good advice from a couple of ins co vets. Including me.
