Word on the street is the new differential (not clear whether this is just for the V or CTS too) will have a larger ring gear and a cast iron housing.
While GM does not validate for the output in excess of the production powertrain, it will very likely have a little more reserve capacity than the current arrangement.
I wonder if this diff will work on our V's......
Word on the street?
Yeah dude, pull your shirt up and look for any new tattoos written on your stomach. :D

LOL. That's as specific as I'm going to be quoting a source. I'll say just check it out and see if I am right...
We've already heard of the new V's iron diff, and the fact (rumor) that it will not work in the current V without some serious modification, if at all. :)

Bummer on the retrofit. Was the gear ring known too? I believe more reserve capacity translates to able to handle the higher power of the new model better than the current one handles 400 hp/395 tq. So you go 700 hp you'll probably still break it, but maybe something like a maggie could still be within the limits.
I am just an old foggie http://ciws.net/smiles/wheelchair.gif and can't remember.
But run a search and see if it was mentioned.

Ring and pinion not the problem. Have never seen someone break a R&P. the case on the other hand, seen few. The pic was just for fun.

I like the pic ;-) I'm still trying to figure out the 2008/2009 and V/Super V thing. All these rumors of high HP V's have me confused.
