Does anyone know if there is a way to improve the contrast/brightness of this screen. I'ts very difficult to see during the day. TIA :)

Don--If you'll recall, we already have an existing thread on the Nav System (http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9337). Anyhow, I noted my perceived pros and cons in my "review" and one complaint was the lack of system/user configuration that every Nav system I've used offers. One of the dozens of options that do not appear to be configurable with the SRX's OEM unit is brightness and contrast. Of course, there are other useful features that I can't get to or configure such as turn on GPS mode, turn off lockout/safety, etc. that are even more annoying to me personally. One of these days, I plan to contact Cadillac service to see if there are hidden methods to access/change some of this stuff...

Yeah, I didn't scroll down far enough. Lack of contrast is sort of a PITA.. :(

IMO, the screen's brightness is pretty good and compares favorably to other Nav systems. My guess is that the SRX's Nav system brightness/contrast during the day is already at maximum so I don't think access to the system settings (if I ultimately get access to them) will be helpful to you.

Hey Terpnut...I found the adjustment for brightness and contrast for day and night. Maxed out both and the image is perfect. Took some time to find the right screen to adjust, but it can be done. :)
