I just picked up a 2000 STS that I'm absolutely in love with. It has a few minor things that I need to tend to to get it totally up to speed. I've noticed hissing and cracking noise which accompanies any music played through the drivers side dash speaker (bose system). I've looked through a lot of other threads and it seems that this is more likely a blown speaker than an amp issue, any comments?

If I just need to replace the speaker, what's involved in taking the dash apart to get to it? I haven't been able to pick up a good shop manual yet and I wanted to get a general idea as to how involved this process would be.

Any suggestions on where to find a replacement?

Thanks in advance.

Before I go prying on stuff andf break something....

Mine are the wire mesh grilles that sit flush with the top of the dash. There doesnt really seem to be any pre-determined "pry-point." Are you sure that the grilles pop right out of the dash?
