As some of you know I am installing a Northstar into a 1987 Toyota MR2.

I have been told that the intake manifold can be switched around so that the TB is on the belt side. Does anyone know if this is true?

What year Northstar?? A 95 and later with the plastic intake can be turned around with no problem... Just the power steering pump has to go...

yes it is a 1995. very cool. With the engine in the back of the car and the MR2 having a scoop on the passenger side of the car... this is going to make my life very good!
I don't use power steering with the engine in the back of the car...

thank you again!

Just looked at your site. So you are near UVA I grew up in Lynchburg. I bet your MR-2 will be fun on the Parkway or Skyline Drive.

You need a garage in the worst way LOL. If you fined a way to defeat the rev limiter on Cadillacs a lot of us would like to know. If you see a guy in a bright yellow TR-8 tell him Phantom said hello. He works at the hospital up there his name is John.

No problem. I think I have seen that guy around. My wife and I both work at the University.

I defeated the rev limit by using a aftermarket computer system called the Electromotive TEC3. The transaxle will use it's own ECU from Power Train Control Solutions. Both are programmed using my Sony Vaio laptop.

Hello, I am currently working on a Northstar conversion for my 85 Fiero.
I have the engine, transmission and an 95 vin 9 ecm. I have a buddy that has completed this conversion in his car with the Caddilac ecm But I would like to have more tunability for future power adders. I was looking at another transmission controller from a company called compu-shift. Do you have a web address for power train control solutions? I did a search for them but could not find there site. BTW how do you like the Electromotive system? and
Could I ask what these two computers cost you? Thanks, Darrell Morse

The trans computer was under $900 and the TEC3 has cost about $2000
You will need a laptop computer.

You wil also need dyno time
