Can't find a PF58 Oil Filter locally. I can get a PF61. Any one know the difference? Is a PF61 OK to use?

The AC Delco PF61 oil filter is for the Northstar engine, not the CTS-V LS6. Both my 2004 and 2005 CTS-V's came with PF44 filters, but this has been replaced with a PF46. If you enter PF58 for a vehicle search on the AC Delco web site, it finds no vehicles. There is a UPF44 filter available for 2005 and 2004 CTS-Vs. The UPF44 is not listed as valid for the 2006 CTS-V. Bottom line, according to AC Delco, the PF46 filter is the only AC Delco filter valid for all 2004-2006 CTS-Vs.

A PF61 does not have an anti-drain-back valve.

Lately I've been using the NAPA Gold 1522 filter.

Thanks for your help. I guess I will have to give up on using a longer oil filter.

Mobil 1 M1-206. About as long as they get.

It will not fit. The two best filters you can buy are probably the Mobil1 M1-206 or the Baldwin B31. If you're not familiar with Baldwin, they make terrific filters for industrial equipment, tractors, trucks and cars. Both of these filters have very high quality filter material, top notch construction and the best in features.
