View Full Version : Headers??

I have been waiting for a shop to make these and none has as of yet.. If there is enough interest Domestic performance is looking for a California based Caddy/Aurora and with enough interest we will make headers an option for the 4.0-4.6l engines.

The issue is cost.

I can have a singe set made for a reasonable ($900-$1000) price but to make a full jig we are looking at around 4000.00 for our upfront work. Obviously this would be a waste if we have one or two buyers. Most good headers go for around 7-800.00 and if we are to offer them I would be able to get into that price range with a 7 or more buyers. If we only have 2-3 people who are serious then we will have to charge based on a custom set.

I have a specialty builder ready to go all I need is interest.

*raise hand* I'd look at them for my 4.6L But, I'm FL based. See how much power you could get from headers, and we'll see. If you can give me numbers of $10-25 per horse, you have a deal. (So if $700, would need 28-70 horses. $1000, need 40-100 horses.) That's the kind of power to cost range I like.

I would definitely be interested in getting headers for my 98 Eldorado.

I will talk with the powers that be and if there is still no actual horizon DP will have them made.

We will start off with a one off buy and a group buy.

Same way we started with the limited slip.

Group buy of 10. Very low number for a group buy.

And one off buys are not competitive with regular costs. Expect to pay around 1000-1200.00 for a one off set. I will have final prices asap.

We are looking for Cadillac’s in the Fresno CA area.

Ok Dp really needs a Cadillac who wants headers in the Fresno area. We are ready to start the process to make the "jig" and first few sets. I will take care of the dyno time. We can do an Aurora or even a new 2004 Pontiac Bonneville.

So if you want headers for the N* now then hustle a Fresno owner to let us make them a set.

We have the stock exhaust manifolds and we have started the build and are going to have a set to measure with very shortly. Any Fresno or California owners of caddy or Aurora 4.0 or 4.6l cars who want to be the first to have the headers with free dyno time please contact us..

Otherwise we will not be able to offer the free deal and will be using a dealer car.

I would buy the headers for my 1993 STS as soon as they are available if the cost is reasonable.
Just let me know when they would be ready for shipping and cost.....

would the headers be the same for a 4.6 as a 4.0 throughought the years? guess you'd have to try to find out, just curious

Do you make them for the 1970 Fleetwood 472 without the need for modifications? I really don't want to get into cuting and modifying anything now, especially if I want to keep all my panels intact.

Do you guy have one for the 04 CTS 3.6L?....i am sure there is enough peolpe in this forum that would be interested.

For the CTS the issue will be who wants them. DP is making headers for the N* guys because of the lack of response from other companies.

We can do the CTS quite easily but will need a 3.2 and 3.6 CTS in the Fresno area to make the first set for. After that set we have the jig made and make them in batches based on interest. We have a dyno and builders ready to go.

So let us know who is interested.

If you guys make them and will ship to Canada I'll take a set.

The big issue so far is cross over capability. Without all the cars in the shop at the same time it comes down to buying alot of stock exhaust headers.

It looks like the 2000-2004 front right bank are the same so it really comes down to different left banks.

I have the local dealership helping out and for there time I want to give a plug to Kitahara Pontiac for all there help with many of Domestic performances projects. The Pontiac dealership has been willing to help out where the caddy dealer has been less than helpful. I found out alot of information for the Aurora from the same dealer.

So once we are sure of the entire cross over issues we will start by making the units with the greatest number of cars or demand.

Once again DP is looking for cars in the Fresno California area who are interested in free headers for sharing their car for measurements. So any 1993-2004 Northstar Cadillac or CTS who is interested contact us.

We have an Aurora who has shown interest so we will be using his car and stock exhaust headers to make a set and then put them on his car for free. If there is any cross over we will let you know.

Expect to see serious progress late next month.

Yes we ship to Canada and we have some great connections there that can install them as well.

Contact me via E-mail and I will be glad to look into it for ya. I may know someone who already has done your application. Otherwise we can make you a set.

I have a 1995 N* Mounted in a 1987 Toyota MR2 (www.v8mr2.com). I am interested in some headers. The install is done, but now I need to rebuild the engine so I have some down time as I collect parts.
I have made a custom merge collector, so keeping the same hookup points would be very nice for me. Do have technical specs for the headers yet?

Ok I will make this really really simple.

Anyone who wants headers and lives in the California are can contact myself by e-mail or post here (e-mails are adding faster than I can answer) and they will get a free set of headers with free dyno time.

Any Northstar or CTS who is interested can get this.

We are doing the same for the Aurora and ... read our site front page and you will see what we are after.

I have a magnum owner who already worked with us so the magnum CAI is about 1 week from completion.

Greetings,
I would love to add headers to my project. However, it is not your typical Northstar application. I have converted a 1953 Ford panel to front-wheel drive using a Northstar. Since my project is still under construction, now would be a great time to add them. It would seem that headers for just about any Caddy/Northstar vehicle would fit. There is plenty of room.

If you go to my website, you will get an idea of my project and issues.
http://www.hevanet.com/enygma/index.html

I will keep checking back for your progress.
Thanks,
~Scott

P.S. Donations/Discounts would be truly appreciated and credit would be given on the website.

I am very interested So I will set up a time line and arrange builders to make the project happen fast enough. Drop me a direct e-mail if you are seriously interested and I will make it happen.

Otherwise we are still looking for Cadillac’s in the California area interested in free headers.

Will the Northstar need to be disassembled to install your headers (once you have them fabricated) since the stock manifold goes "through" the engine/tranny? thanks

I'm definitely interested in headers and anything else you guys want to test out on the car including tranny mods, computer mods, etc. :) The only problem is I'd have to ship it to you and you are 2500 miles away. I sent you an email, I Have a 99 STS.

Thanks
