: MY SRX on 20's PICTURES INSIDE!

I just put 20 inch rims on my SRX Friday.. They are the Helo Chambers and look fantastic the ride is not as great as when the car had the stock wheels and tires on it but it still rides pretty darn good.. As well as the rims I added the chrome pillars and the side door trim. In the near future I am planning to add a mesh grille and customize the car with my name a little bit -- by embroiding ARICH in the headrests as well as getting a custom emblem that says ARICH to put in place of the GM logo on each side.

As I started to take the pictures of my car it started to rain so I'll upload some new ones on a shiny day :)

In the meantime here you guys go please feel free to tell me what you think good or bad :)

Very nice. I didn't realize there were any Helo wheels that would work for the SRX.

One suggestion since you seem to like chrome. Check into the V8 luggage rack bars. They are chrome instead of black. Probably cost a fortune through the dealer's parts department though.

Also, when you peel off the GM emblems, I would be interested in buying them off of you to update my 04.

Thanks for the comments guys.. Yah Dieter I was looking into those they were pricey for what they are. Will let you know when I peel off my GM logo's

Looks nice. Like the wheels. The side chrome and pillar chrome is not my thing, but it looks fine w/ black.

Hot pair of Cadillacs! If my SRX was not a lease, I would jump on that grill and lower valence treatment.

I noted your side mouldings with interest. Since the SRX has no OEM side protection against those who insist on parking very close and flinging their doors open, I am interested in some "reasonable quality side trim". Appreciate any info on what, where to get, how installed, and how much. Thanks in advance.

Getting hubcentric rings installed tomorrow to improve the vibration caused by the rims.. Also painted the calibers black.. Ordered the ARICH side emblems hopefully they will be in sometime this week... New pictures soon

Dude, you're living the dream. I want to be just like you when I grow up.:worship:

Have you done any work inside on either of them?

Those rims are nice. Has the handling and ride changed dramatically? Looking to put some 20" or 22" Driv Don wheels on mine but dont want a "trucky" type of ride or feel. Those with rims let me know your feedback as well.

I got a custom strut grille :) installed today it truly makes the car UNBELIEVABLE.. Since getting the hub centric rings the ride of the car with rims is great, you can't tell you have rims on it drives like stock, it makes me wish I went 22'... Check Back SOON for new full shots of the car with the grille.. Here are some pictures of the grille installed

The wheels look fine. What tires are mounted on them? I replaced my 17" stock wheels with the original Goodyear RSA's, with 20" Cadillac wheels that I picked up on Ebay and mounted Firestone Destination ST's.
The ride is far better and the handling didn't suffer at all.

Rob........why you are not getting any responses from Arich? He posted his last comment on that 5 years ago last month. Don't think you are going to be hearing from him any time soon.

I know what your trying to find out so just come out and say it, also the answer has been covered before so a search on "tires" will do it too.

But either way the tire will clear and fit yes, but how happy it will be on an 8" wheel is the question, google is your source for this not this forum. If you are wanting to go 275 front then go 265/50-20 and it will end up wider, the tire brand has tons to do with it as well as they vary alot.

What size of tires did you go with.

----------

I bought me some 20s ROCK STARR 20x8.5,I just wanted to no if i could put 255/50-20 on all 4s on my 2005 srx AWD.

Well i am going to check and see if I can get a full size tire w/ 20" rim to fit where the spare is. I dont like driving on donuts. I might be looking for one wheel.

Man you should have just searched, covered 1,000,000 times before.

But since I am in a good mood, yes you can with no problem.

No you can't, will not fit. The mufflers are in the way, I think I put pictures in my exhaust thread.

Bummer, well thanks for saving me the trouble of finding out the hard way.

In my mind the standard donut is better than what the GenII SRX owners get.......no spare unless you pay for the optional donut spare.

For some, this works out just fine. But I spend a lot of my miles and time driving where there is not a tire store nearby when/if I get a flat. And if there is, will they be open? If they are open, will they have an exact replacement tire brand/model/size in stock if they are open? And if they do have the exact tire brand/model/size in stock, how badly will I get totally nailed on the cost of a single tire purchase with no alternatives when I am stranded?

The donut will eliminate ar at least mitigate most of these issues and will not leave me stranded/endangered by the roadside with my wife, family members, and/or the dogs. The "what ifs." So to me, the donut is not so bad. I can live with it.

The temp spare is small, lighter and will do the job so I say go with it. That being said I have yet to ever use one in 20 years driving (holy crap I'm getting old)

Welcome to the forum Ricardo, enjoy your new ride! As a note, Ricardo bought my SRX just a few weeks back, the one that's in my avatar. I look at it as my car now as the best retirement posible, Ricardo is only taking it out on nice days for beauty drives. Thanks Ricardo.

Sweet ride, Tom. We appreciate the picture, even though you left some dirt in the left front tire tread and the innermost part of the left rear fender well, behind the wheel/tire.:lildevil:

Thanks PJ, but that car now belongs to Ricardo, he works with me, he plans on keeping it this way. He bought a whole supply of Zaino products to keep up the good looks.

Hey Tom, what tire size were you running on your srx?? They fit the truck nicely!

Hey Tom, what tire size were you running on your srx?? They fit the truck nicely!

On that 07 I put Zinik Z15 Verona's, they are 20x8.5 with a 40 offset. Zinik custom drilled the wheels for the correct 6x14.3 fitment. I put Toyo S/T 265-50x20's on all fours when the vehicle was brand new, no wheel interference problems at all and the Toyo's have been excellent on all counts. I put 77,000 miles (still had milage left) on those Toyo before replacing them with PARADA Spec-X Yokohama's of the same size this past summer, seem to be excellent as well.
See attached picture of the Zinik wheels.
