Swapped my Stealth Gray CTS-V today for a Black Raven with Ebony STS-V. What a stunning looking car.

Not much driving experience on it yet and I'm working on a few pics so I'll post them when I get them up.

So the big question, mod or not to mod especially the exhaust.

Kadonny,
Congratulations! I saw your post the other day over on the CTS-V site and was waiting to hear the news. I too went from the CTS-V W/Corsa and CAI to the STS-V and I agree with caddiyesso that the exhaust will be coming. As a matter of fact I have to give him a call and order one up. I'm waiting to hear back from my dealer to see if they will let me have it shipped direct to them and have them do the install. I'm still suffering from shift withdrawal, but, I got my eye on something that might cure that. Good luck with your new baby.

You think so? Even with the Pierburg valve over 3500rpm? Just asking.

Thanks all, I am on the fence for the exhaust. The cabin is so quiet right now it's unbelievable. I would love more WOT noise but I dont want to sacrafice for everyday driving.

The Corsa for the CTS-V was pefect. When you didn't lay into it, you almost didn't know it was there. I'm a little hesitant for the Borla since I have known them on other cars to drone in the cabin.

What to do.

Ok, just a few pics:

I am still on the fence about the exhaust. The other half REALLY likes the stealthiness of the quiet car that can kick the ass of most any loud exhaust car out there. I do have to agree that there is a certain satisfaction in embarrassing the hell out of a kid in a loud ass mustang that he "thought" was fast... hehe.

The other point is that when you do really lay into it, there is a certain tone to the car that is unique... kind of Formula 1 sounding... listen to the video here and you'll see what I mean.

I love that freaking video. Making fun of the car until it runs a 13.2 then the crowd just gasps!

Killer.

Ok i'll be the rude one. How much of a $ difference in the trade? Is the STS-V out of the wrapper new?

Yup, the STS-V was just delivered to the dealer from the factory. Look at the one picture, it shows the miles when I picked it up.

Well, the dealer gave GMS price with the affected rebates. Overall it ended up being almost a wash with the trade in.

Congratulations to your new STS V, had this june the opportunity to drive a XLR V from a friend in California, love this engine.

Since no V`s will come as export-models to Germany I bought me on Dec. 22nd a new STS, here`s a picture

interesting pic. looks like cts-v rims and standard sts exhaust tips. i can see the supercharger badge on the side as well as the caddy crest behind the back door. does the export sts-v not run 19's on the back?

Hi caddyv8v,
since no V will come as export model to germany I just have mine dressed up as a V.
You are right, the export V8 model comes standard with the Brembo-brakes and CTS V wheels. There`s 255`s all around. Another good thing, there is no speed limiter in the export model and I know from a friend who drives the V8 here in germany it`s top speed is 276 kph ( 171 mph).
I`ll find this out soon, after the brake in, just have about 250 miles on the odo.

I wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR

wow, i had no idea that v8 sts's would run that fast, awsome indeed. now you have me wondering how fast my v would run top speed, since the vector motorsports removes the speed limiter. btw, great looking cars. have a safe and happy new year.

I know the US STS is limted to around 155 mph and my friends XLR V we had two times up to 158 mph when the speed limiter kicks in but very softly.

I`ve had my XLR up to 292 (181 mph) with Corsa exhaust.

I`m pretty sure a STS V without limiter will do easy over 185 mph, too bad they don`t bring em over here as an export model.

A happy and safr new year to you too.

Harry
