Just curious as to how the tranny holds up on the CTS, I own A GTO and am used to much more power so I feel like this CTS is fragile or something, I dont want to mess up the tranny by gettin on it hard once in a while....what is your take on this.....can it take a beating????

ryant,
I own a 30th Anniversary TA so its like comparing apples and oranges as far as the tranny goes. I keep my heavy duty stuff to the LS1, but when I hop back in the CTS it rides like nothing else. I try not to beat down the Lac with burnouts, actually have never done that as Ive only hadthe car for awhile now, but Im sure many guys here can help you out with how well they hold up better than myself.
Altogether two different cars. How do you like the Goat?? 400hp? I am pushing about 370 at the rear currently but with some spring mods....who knows

mine is holding up well :D
I love my Goat and I would never drive the lac like it but I do like to drive fast so I just dont want that to be a problem, I actually have to give the GTO back to the dealer in january as it is coming off of lease, that is why i bought the cadillac....I had it narrowed down to a Charger, CTS, BMW 3 Series, or Jaguar X Type and I went with te CTS!!!!!!!!!!

As the others have said, the transmission seems to be a winner - smooth and sturdy. It's the differential that has let donw a good number of folks. But, there are many who have had no rearend problems at all...

Go by the OLM system for the transmission in the DIC.

Being a newer member I missed the joke with fly-flip? I would assume a few tranny swap-outs, blowouts ect. ect.
