any idea on the cost of blacking out the grilles? is it powdercoating??
if so what color?

any cheap place to get the replacement mesh that can be cut the appropriate sizes rather then buyiing new replacement grilles as i am sure they are expensive if i want to swap to stock

Unless you hit a junkyard, there is probably no way to get just the mesh.

As for how, go powdercoating. There is usually 3 types of black. Flat, semi-gloss and gloss. Flat seems too bland and gloss seems to be too much. The consensus for guys, like myself, is to go with semi. The cost shouldn't be more than $100.

Can the "trim" chrome ring around the mesh be powdercoated as well? I haven't looked closely to see if it is metal or plastic. I am at work at the car is 10 minute walk away, so that is why I ask :)

Most likely painted as the powdercoat method may melt it...

Powder coat & like anything you get what you pay for. It still cracks me up, people are willing to spend thousands on a Cadillac then want to spend $20 or less to keep it up or make it their own.
