Picked her up tonight for $450! '79 Sedan Deville with 56k original miles! 425ci V8, 3 speed Hyrdamatic, and very little wrong with it. I'd guess $1500 to get it totally tip top. Guess my wife is getting the Brougham and I'm gonna start driving this beast to work. Man does the power from that 425 feel good compared do the 307 in the Brougham. Here's some pics: http://www.bandhproductions.com/pics/deville.jpg http://www.bandhproductions.com/pics/interior1.jpg http://www.bandhproductions.com/pics/interior2.jpg http://www.bandhproductions.com/pics/interior3.jpg

Well, it needs some work, but it looks like a diamond in the rough, I like it.

What a beautiful beast! Even wired up for a CB! Nice! A few afternoons at the Pick-a-part or whatever junkyard you can find for interior bits and a LOT of wax/etc. and that should be beautiful!

Cool. I have a 79 Coupe.

Yup, it's absolutely filthy. I'm gonna drop it at the detailer, maybe even tomorrow, and get him to buff it, clay it, and wax it. That should bring some shine back out of that old paint. It also needs some usual stuff, like brakes and tires, and the A/C doesn't work. Sounds like the acutuator is leaking in the dash, and I'm sure the system is bone dry. It's also missing those notriously bad plastic inserts in the back between the quarter panels and the tail lights, so I'll have to find a blue set of those.

That 425 has 56k original miles on it though. The stickers are still on the fan shroud!

lol, it sounds weird to hear somebody say their taking their car to get detailed, I'm so used to that being something you do yourself. You might have some trouble with that paint, it looks like the stuff on my Phaeton did when I got it. The sides buffed up nice, but the hood was so bad I have to re-buff it monthly or the oxidation comes back in full. Sounds weird I know, I've never seen anything like it, it just gets this haze over it and I have to cut it again. But like I said, the rest looks nice. be sure to keep us updated :)

Congratulations! That's some low mileage for that age car.

Normally I do my car myself, but since this needs a serious buff, I'll leave it to the pros while I'm at work. It's 50/50 with that hood. My Brougham looked worse when I brought it home, and after a buff and wax, you can't even tell. I'm hoping that's what this car does, but '79 paint might be different than '87 paint. I might just toss a new paint job on it considering I got it for so cheap. Oh, anybody know where I can pick up a set of those fender inserts for the back? That's really killing the look of the car.

Very nice! For the price, you've got a sweet car there, and it looks like it has a lot of potential.

Big time. I needed something new to work on anyway. My other cars run fine, so I was getting bored on the weekends. There is zero rust in this car, so I can justify bringing her back to life.

I like dealing with Musselmann for the extensions. They're in Hemmings.

Stay away from Replica Plastics out of Dothan, Alabama. Absolute crap, at least in my case.

Got a link to either of 'em? The extensions and the exhaust are first on my list. I hate driving around a car looking like white trash because it's missing body pensl. I already look like white trash enough all by myself, I don't need the help :D

Fabulous find. I'd celebrate your new Cadillac tonight by having some ice-cold suds and a grouper sandwich at Frenchy's Rockaway Grill.

Congratulations on your DeVille; we look forward to many more pictures after she's been detailed!

Musselman Distributing can be reached at (800) 354-3254. Be sure to ask for ABS plastic examples, not the fiberglass stuff.

Sweet! I found these guys too: http://www.autorifix.com/ and http://www.autobodyfillersusa.com/servlet/StoreFront Either of them worth a damn? They're pretty cheap and seem to have ABS stuff that'd fit my car.

It's called St. Petersburg, Florida, otherwise known as God's waiting room. There are a lot of elderly people here with one foot in the grave and a Cadillac in the garage. My Brougham only cost me $1500. :D

Just means he didn't get the electric mirror package. I don't mind the blue interior, it's totall mafia. I did some serious fixing this weeked. I think I patched all the exhaust leaks, but I'm gonna have to toss a new muffler on it since it's still got that truck sound to it. It also got a new fuel pump since the original was leaking, and I replaced the broken ignition cylinder with a brand new AC Delco one so I'd have GM keys. It's nice now.

My base '79 also lacks a passenger-side mirror.
