I have a 2000 Deville. It has the "standard" AM/FM/CD radio in it without a CD changer. How hard is it to add a factory CD changer that mounts in the glove box? Is the wiring already there somewhere? Second, what are the advantages of the Bose system over the base system and how hard is it to upgrade to the Bose system? Thanks for your patience.

if you do not have a bose system i am guessin it would be cheaper and better sounding if u just went ahead and upgraded all your speakers with some nice aftermarket ones.

It is very simple to install the glovebox mounted CD changer in your 2000 Deville. It should take about an hour to do the job. It came prewired from the factory... you will find the connector after removing the glovebox assembly (It is held in by 8-10 torx bit screws). You simply plug it into the back of the changer and your factory radio will recognize the new "Source". You can find the operating instructions in your Deville owners manual.

As far as finding a changer... Try crutchfield.com they now carry an aftermarket 6 disk changer for the 1997-2001 Deville it is made by USA SPEC part # SCD-G190CAD it goes for about $240. Or you can try EBay or the Web to find an OEM changer... If you go this route you will also need to buy the OEM mounting bracket to secure the changer to the top of the glovebox (GM part # 12497300) I picked one up at Radiosandmore.com for $15 plus shipping and it came with the GM installation instructions for the bracket and changer.

Thanks for all the info. I'll start looking for that CD changer.
