I finally convinced my friend to buy the STS he's always liked but would never buy because of the 'old person' image that so many people associated with it, which is total BS in my opinion. We finally found a mint '01 STS Black/Black with 22K miles on it fully loaded (minus NAV). The only thing i havent been able to figure out is whether it has Magnetic Ride Control.

I've searched the forums but havent found much.

Can someone please provide me with information on the model years it was available on the STS, and whether it was standard or an option? I vaguely remember, but i think it was an option in late '01, and standard in '02 and '03.

Also, how do i find out whether the car has it or not? Is there a sticker or a RPO code on the door, or maybe in the DIC?

Finally, how much do you think this car is worth? The dealer is asking $26K for it.

Thanks.

The price is decent for an 01... Seen some as low as 22-23 with that kind of mileage. Make sure its the PREMIUM package with Xenon lights and 17 inch wheels, otherwise I wouldnt pay more than 20 or so. The real MAGNARIDE debuted in mid 2002, up until then it was simply CVRSS 2.0, which was Continuously Variable Road Sensing Suspension but did not have the magnetic fluid filled shocks.
