Check the onboard diagnostics to see why the SES is coming on. If there is an SES then a trouble code has been set. With the key on, simultaneously press and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on the climate control panel until the onboard diagnotics activates and then read off the codes as they are displayed.
Use the "search" feature of the forum for "tuneup" and "coolant supplement" and "phenolic spacer plates" and such as many of your questions specific to that model have been answered repeatedly in the past.
You definitely want to drain and refill the cooling system as the 94 had the conventional , green silicated coolant that required replacement every 2-3 years/24-32 K miles to keep the corrosion inhibitors up to strength....otherwise the corrosion inhibitors become depleted and internal engine damage results from corrosion....such as head gaskets failing.
Servicing the water pump drive belt (at the rear of the engine on a separate belt drive) and the tensioner for that small belt would be a good idea at that age and miles....
