You'll finally get to find out if sixty really is special! ;) gdwriter 12-10-06, 08:21 PM Happy 60 Special, Sandy—and a blessed Hanukkah as well. Hoover sends a big smile your way. Thanks for the good wishes! Chanukah starts on the eve of the 15th. I gotta get out there & get some candles. One year (looooong ago, when I had $$$ to burn) I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond for Chanukah candles. They were actully selling long sexy tapered candles with real gold outter casing. Of course I bought them. (gulp) Okay, they were under fifty dollars, that's all I'm saying. Told wife Karen that they were $14.00. She flipped. She never really knew the truth. She woulda made me take 'em back.
Our son is FINALY done with college and living home,. so it will be the 1st time in 4 years that he is home for the holiday. TomDeville 12-10-06, 09:09 PM Dearest Sir Sandy:
Happy Birthday; and, Chanukkah!
from your biggest fan.
Warmest Personal Regards,
TomDeville
:cool2: All our best, Sandy!
My dad grew up in the lower east side of New York in a Russian Orthodox Family. Chanukah, Christmas, and Orthodox Christmas were basically a month long celebration in their neighborhood. nickc50310 12-10-06, 10:07 PM Happy birthday and Happy Holidays to you as well Sandy! dp102288 12-10-06, 11:12 PM Have a good B-Day man...you deserve it for being on the board! Happy birthday and happy Chanukah Sandy! I tried to find a good Chanukah video to share but alas, none that I thought could compete with your Christmas one, that was pretty good!
Best wishes to you and your cherished family! RobertCTS 12-11-06, 09:36 AM 60 is tough!! You can no longer think you're middle aged Sandy. ahhhhhh the 60 mark!!! It's ok, im sure you are still 21 inside ;)
Hope you have a FANTASTIC birthday!!!! I just announced that I am leaving to go to Bed Bath & Beyond to buy Hanukkah candles. My wife says, "I'm going too ~ wait for me to put on make-up"
{{ there goes the 14ct gold candles }} If she looks at the price on them, I'm gonna get hell for it - a year later! I'll have to say: WOW, they REALLY raised the price on them! Holy Smokes, man Gold musta really skyrocked in cost! I'll have to act super shocked!
I really wanted to get them again. WIFE :shocked2: > Sandy :getaway:
48 candles each the size of a cigarette for $125.00 is a tough one to "hide" at the cash register.
"Oh, those? .........." will not work! :thehand:
PS/ I think I past "middle age" 'round 'bout 29 !! Actually, I'm in very good shape, and look around
46 to 49 years old. But, I think "it"s gonna all change pretty soon. I mean how long can you go on "cheaten' the truth ??? Wow..I think I'd get just regular candles and paint them gold. That was a pretty darn catchy tune
Congrats on big six-oh! Aw...painting them gold is no fun ~ way better toi burn gold !
Anyway, we bought the FAKE platinum Silver ones for $10. bucks.
I parked next to a 2006 Electric Blue Viper Convert with red roters. Neat car. CadillacGurl 12-11-06, 05:56 PM SANDY! Omg the "White Christmas" I love it! I saw it last year and my mom dies from laughter everytime I play it.
Happy Birthday to you! I hope its a spectacular one!
Happy Hanukkah to you as well! THANKS ! I'll tell you HOW it WOULD be spectacular.....
IF I was 19 and in college (again)
Gosh, I had a brand new 1966 Pontiac GTO Convertible (loaded),
and the most sought after clothes and plenty of it, and zero
bills, even a gas credit card that Dad paid. I knew I had it good.
I just didn't know HOW good, and HOW short it would all last ! :crybaby: dp102288 12-12-06, 08:50 PM ^^ Damn I better enjoy it while it lasts! Damn right, dp !! It's unlike a merry-go-round, in that it only comes around ONCE. The NEXT time it will "come around" is when YOU make it happen for YOUR child !
Take a whiff. Smell the reality. It can get very ugly, before it gets better.
EDIT:: I see you are in No. Brunswick. I go thru there on Rt. 1 frequently eye-balling all the car dealers,
there. Malouf is really branching out. They are getting Chevy soon. My son bowled at the Z-Zone or what ever it's called. That's the road we took hundreds of time to Princeton.

Malouf Caddy...yep my enemies! (too $$ for parts)
I know the bowling place...I am not allowed back!
Malouf is pretty big in our area...Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Pontiac, Buick, GMC, Caddy. Didn't hear baout Chevy yet.
I love Rt 1 because it is a good road (smooth, built for speed/no sharp turns, well designed). I hate Rt 1 cause the limit is 50! Its a freakin US highway and they made it 50. :crying: Chevrolet is going IN together with Cadillac store.
Whada ya do in the bowling alley ??? Ummmmm....... :canttalk:
They made it 50 because there is SO MUCH traffic leaving & entering the road, due to all the strip malls and shopping centers and super markets and and and and. It's VERY nice round about 2:30 AM however !!
But, beware..... Camaros going 53 MPH get pulled over, {{Town Cars}} [mine] do not get pulled over at 82 MPH ! :D

We share the same birthday 12/13/46. Do you know that you were born on Friday the 13th. I consider it my lucky number, we made it 60 years already.
The Bum,
07 EXT, 04 SRX, and soon to be gone 03 DeVille dp102288 12-13-06, 10:00 PM Sandy: Exactly about why the Eldo is a great car for speeding...looks too damn big!
They are putting the Chevys in next to the Caddys?! Why...Cobalts and XLRs=:vomit:
Bowling alley...lets say :alchi: was involved and I don't remember...:hide: Stoneage_Caddy 12-13-06, 10:08 PM yup have a good 60th sandy ....
and a nice traditional Hanukkah
still trying to talk the neibors into gettin there menorah out this year , they flat wont its sad , but i guess they feel theres some ill will towards them somewhere in the hood ....even tho im a christain they get all sorts of questions from me ....im a tradition junkie .... Nick1Bum, no...I never knew that. R-U sure? December 13th 1946 was a Friday ? So...That explains my life !!
Stoney, what kinda Menorah they got? One of those 15 foot high outdoors things? If so, I have very mixed emotions over them. Personally, No, I would not do it. It's just not the way it should be done. It's like competing with Christians in saying ... Hey look, my Menorah is as big (or bigger) than your Christmas tree. I live in a very heavily Jewish populated area. Some towns within the county are at 50% Jewish. Others are 20%. Town I live in is just 2%. There is only ONE house, that I have ever seen with one of those "High as the Roof" Menorahs. Other Jews laugh at it.
With all the nut cases and bigots out there, one really doesn't need to do that.
Hanukkah starts tomorrow night, with candle #1. Ends NEXT Friday night, the 22nd, with candle # 8. JimHare 12-14-06, 11:53 AM Happy (Belated) Birthday, my friend Sandy - now let's start on the next 60... nick1bum 12-14-06, 09:35 PM Sandy, it was a Friday, my mother told me it was not a lucky day for her, guess I wasn't a good guy growing up. Enjoy the Holidays.
