A friend I went to high school with was in a hit and run accident; the driver was drunk. My friend Mike was walking home to his apartment on school campus when he was struck. Right now he's in a medically induced coma, so along the lines of ewill please keep him in your prayers. He's only 18 years old.

"Police said Saturday afternoon that Drauch was in critical condition. He had been taken by Centre LifeLink to Mount Nittany Medical Center and then transferred to Geisinger Medical Center.

According to police, Katherine A. Applegate, 23, of State College, was identified as the driver of the Explorer and was arrested on felony charges of accidents involving death or serious bodily injury and aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI. Police said Applegate had a 0.208 blood alcohol level, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent, and was charged with DUI."

Katherine A. Applegate is a selfish coont. I hope she suffers.

No excuses for drinking and driving - I hope your friend pulls through and that the driver suffers the consequences to the fullest.

Same thing happened two a couple of kids from the graduating class of '06 at my high school. One had gone to a party and drank a lot and then drove home (in his mom's Tahoe). He hit a girl from his class, head on, at 55 mph, she was driving her Lumina. I believe she was in the hospital for like three weeks, but I can't remember. She recovered pretty well if I remember correctly. He got a DUI, but didn't go to jail, sadly. Anyways, I hope your classmate recovers quickly and smoothly!

So sad...a taxi cab is all but $10 max to your house. Yet they would rather be jackasses. :(
