: Found a V (I Hope) - Q About Repairs?

I think I tracked one down finally. Here's the list of repairs that have been done to the vehicle:

V1228 - 04068 - Replace FF Jumper Pipe Assembly (what the heck is this? )
Y0039 - Inventory Upgrade - Reprogram Powertrain Control Module (any insight as to why this would be necessary or what might cause it?)
J3100 - Radiator Assembly - Replace (this was a service bulletin, right? Pretty common is my understanding.)
R0520 - Module, Antenna - Replace (no biggee)

And that's it. Anything I should be worried about? Thanks in advance.

What year? Different bulletins have come out for different years.

the jumper was a recal for the '04's/'05's I think. The PCM reflash is probably nothing. Looks like nothing of concern to me...assuming that somebody did the proper routine maintenance.....

Quick, buy it before Scott from Superior Cadilliac, "Your entire one source dealership" comes in here and tries to sell you one of his!

The PCM reflash is a TSB as well just an upgrade to the OS. Nothing to be concerned with probably some incremental tuning. On the 05 V I just bought with 14K miles that was the only item repaired. I added the wheel hop TSB, what a waste still hops like a rabbit at easter.

Repairs can be re-repaired. Repairs are only a snapshot of the car. Check for accident damage and mechanics that are sound. Test drive it and make a reasonable offer which accurately reflects what your buying. Use Carfax cautiously. Here's what the GM-VIS showed for my car (2005, 8500 mi) prior to me buying it: PCM flash (like yours), replace rr wheel, replace rear differential (6099 mi.), replace tire pressure sensor. The old fart who had it prior to me must have blew the diff tracking it! Bought it anyway. Solid car.

It's a 2005.

Great...thanks guys. Appreciate the info and reassurance. The routine maintenance should be good too as it's low mileage.

I must say that if Superior has an '06 with 10k for $35k than it appears that he has some good deals! I would be more concerned about him killing the prices on our cars with those numbers! I don't have a sunroof so I don't have to worry! :lolsign:

P.S. I love his quote under his name where your car goes. His says Escalade but hopefully a V soon! Does it say hopefully a CTS soon on the CtS board and hopefully an STS V on that board? What a salesman!

Indeed you can! I saw the STS V's going thru the auction for $55k with 4k miles and that was two months ago! Who knows what they're at now! I am sure you can find one now, that is priced right, for that number or less without going to the auction! Those prices were at the big Pennsylvania auction, Manhiem I believe.

Just a heads up for those interested in this car. Scott doesn't have it to sell - it must have sold immediately after he posted the above. He told me he does have an '05 w/15k miles for $33,800.

Some Cars I can buy them right and they sell before the end of business day.. On the other hand some cars will sit. I sold a 2005 today with 15,800 miles on it for $33500.00 Every option..

If you have a car in question I can run it through the GM computer and see what shows up.
