I have Forty K miles of crap built up below the surface that I can't reach by hand and brush.

What is the best way to clean it out?

Your suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

Take the 710 cap off and drive a new V under it. That's the easiest way.

I used to detail trade ins to put on the lot for sale (dad was a Chevrolet, Pontiac & Oldsmobile dealer). Steam cleaning works great, but I don't know if they still have that "technology". Other than that I would say a can of enging degreaser and a high pressure wash.

Good luck.

Say, you're not cleaning up your car to get it ready to sell are you? :crybaby:

I'd avoid high pressure washers- they force water into places it shouldn't be.

Diluted degreaser and a gentle rinse. Repeat if necessary.

Simple Green works great.

Then go over the plastic/rubber stuff with a protector.

Good answer, simple green is great stuff.
What type of protector do you suggest?
Thanks for the input too.

I use this FORMULA 2001 stuff that I get from Pep Boys.

Comes in a green bottle and works better then Armorall.

The only thing nicer than a good clean engine compartment, is a good clean engine compartment that smells like simple green.

Like a charm it worked!

:highfive:
thx again for the suggestion!
