Stupid question time: I haven't driven my '89 Brougham for quite a while. The battery was old and died so I've replaced it. I can't remember now if the side marker lights (amber lights under the clear cornering lamps) flash with the turn indicators or not. The service manual doesn't state that they blink but it seems odd to me that there wouldn't be any blinking lights on the sides for perpendicular traffic to observe.

Now, if they don't blink, perhaps I'll wire them so they do. In theory I could simply tap the wires going to the turn indicator lamps in the front light bar below the head lamps.

I LOVE how these cars look at night with all their lights on. VERY classy.

I doubt that they blink. My '91 Brougham has sort of a wrap around design for the lights at the front corners. The cornering lamp comes on, but the side marker doesn't blink. You can sort of see the front turn signal blinking from the side due to that wrap around design, but it's clearly not the side marker light.

My 94 they do.

With headlights OFF, they blink together, side and main.
With headlights ON, they blink alternate.

Easy enough to retrofit, clip the ground wire from the side marker, and splice it into the wire for the turn signal. It will work just like the later FWBs.
