The big talk all over the dealerships and and media is how the V-Series is a limited production "exclusive" car. My attempts to find out just how exclusive have proved fruitless so far.

I asked the dealer... They don't know.

I asked the regional Cadillac rep.... The closest he would say is that about 10% of all STS models built were "V"'s

I asked Cadillac and this is the response I got...

"Thank you for contacting the Cadillac Customer Assistance Center. We appreciate you taking the time to write us in regards to your question about the Cadillac STS-V series.

However, we do not have figures for the STS-V. This is a limited production vehicle and figures are not released. There were 33,539 STS vehicles produced in 2006.

If you should need to contact us in the future, simply reply to this message or call our Cadillac Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-458-8006. Customer Relationship Specialists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

For more information regarding the maintenance and care of your vehicle, please visit www.mygmlink.com. This free online service offers vehicle and ownership-related information and tools tailored to your specific Cadillac.

Again, thank you for contacting Cadillac.

Sincerely,

The Cadillac Consumer Support Team"

Surely we have someone here on the board with access. I am curious about the entire "V" line... not just the STS-V.

Thanks!

I guess I should have asked this question BEFORE I wrote the check.... I'll bet they would have told me then ;)

What specific answers are you looking for?
You want production numbers for all V models or breakdown by model?
(CTS, STS, XLR)
I might be able to get numbers for some of them from my contacts at GM.
I hate to bug them about something too trivial so the more specific the question the better.

Well, I think every "V" owner would like to know the breakdown by both year and model. That is the main goal here. My suspision is that the STS-V will have some pretty low numbers due to the late start and shortage of parts.

A bonus would be to get the breakdown by color since those are limited as well. As you said, this may be prying too far... I'll take waht I can get and be happy.

I assume that all 2006 production has been completed and all work is currently for 2007 models.

Thanks!!!

Here is the information I got from my friend at the plant.

Here we go, I pulled the part number for the STS-V "supercharged" door emblem. We have used a total of 3006 peices. That should equate to about 1503 cars TOTAL . As of 11-29-2006.----------------- CTS-V appears to have 1858 cars built since September 2005. Which would be 2006 and 2007 model year to date. That's about the best I can get from our plant material people. The VSSM group could probably search by option (campaigns/recalls) but we don't have access to that

I know it's not complete but it's as close to actual production numbers as I can get.
Hope this helps.

Heck, Corvette releases number by color for each year. In fact, a spreadsheet is available showing all options, colors, Freq count, etc.

Maybe Cadillac buyers just do not have enough clout, or maybe Cadillac charges extra for that kind of info.
