continuing my tune up i replaced the plugs, cap and rotor. apparently i was careless while putting the cap back on and pinched the battery wire that plugs into the coil:thepan: . upon trying to start the car i got quite a smoke show. through the diagnostic error e12 i determined that the hei mod was smoked. so i have replaced that and the car still wont start and i still get the e12 error. do i have to reset the sysyem or something or is the problem now deeper than that?

Replacing the HEI module may have been a bit premature. You probably have a short in the dist harness. Do you have a voltmeter? If so, we can walk through the diagnosis.

nevermind, you were right once again! the batt wire was broken underneath the sheathing. soldered in a new wire and good as new.
