: MAF Sensor

I just got my car back from my mechanic after having work done on the hydraulic pump control unit (whatever that is) to solve a persistant TC0047 code. Now I have a constant SES light and a p0102 code - mass air flow (MAf) sensor circuit low frequency. Are there any easy fixes for this condition?

You could try cleaning the hot wire MAF element.

Very very gently with a cotton swab & alcohol.

Plug the sensor back in, he probably left it unplugged.

That's what I was thinking, too.

Well the sensor was connected. I ended up cleaning the MAF elements with a Q-tip and alcohol and it worked!! No more p0102 code... I also took the opportunity to clean out the TB as it was severly caked with carbon. The car runs like new now and for the first time in weeks, I am code free!!!

Thanks for the advice guys.

You guys are lucky you actually can clean them... Those MAF's are expensive, and get replaced frequently on other cars.
