I was doin some searchin around. I posted a thread in the deville forum "Tad". It stands for Tim Allen Designs or something. But he has a PCM tuned DTS. I found out who did it and e-mailed them. Took them a week but they got back to me. Here's what he wrote,

"The availability is a little slim but for some 06's and some other 06-07's there is some capability to tune the ECM's. Prior to that they were using a Siemens controller I think which makes it very difficult for outside tuning. If you give me the year, model, and engine, I could be a little more sure for you. I e-mailed him back with the extra info he needed. Hopefully good news since he did do Tim Allens DTS.

He replied back,
"Sorry but we have no calibration tools that go back that far with GM Northstar engines. Please let us know if there is anything else that we might be able to help with."

I guess 1999 is too old. Maybe some of you out there with newer cars might be able to get some help from this company.

00+ used different programming....
HOWEVER, that programming could be adapted to our cars...
ask him if he would mod the program to work and that you have many people who are interested

I emailed him, hopefully he replies back. Hope he doesn't think I'm a joke because I keep e-mailing him.

heck even if hed give up the programming like how he hacked it what he did we may be able to figure some things out

Stay presistent. If he thinks your a joke, then he is losing business. Hell, give him this thread link. Let him know there are a good amount of interested people in some re-programming.

i am a tuner and have been trying to find anything for the northstar for a longtime and the only thing i can think of doing is to keep trying to get someone like kieth at hp tuners to know there is a big intrest in these cars so they might develope something i already asked him last night and all he said was not right now but thats what i have got from other people.if we can get a lot of you to email the guys at hp tuner and tuner cat i think they might try something

I still didn't get a response from that guy. In the first post in the this thread, I put his e-mail address. Like stbtt said, maybe someone else can e-mail this guy since he isn't responding back to me. If enough people e-mail him asking about pcms, more than likely they will get the hint that they can make money and they'll do it.

Here's the info on the Tim Allen Design DTS:

It talks about who did the mods, and that GM assisted them. Interesting that the car's 0-60 is 6.7sec with well over 350 hp according to them.... I wonder why it's not a better improvement.

Yea I figured that the horsepower improvement would increase the 0-60 times but it didn't do it by much. maybe cuz it has a stock tranny and stock gears. i dunno.

Thanks for that DTSi link...good read!

Very nice read. I love Tim anyway and I think he's always been a Cadillac man. I think I remember when that story came out.

I'm calling :bsflag: on his claims...

a half second and THREE mph improvement in the 1/4? That's about 25-30hp on a 4500lb car. That's lame. But I guess if lying helps sell the cars, more power to him....

11-30-06, 08:40 PM
You think it should be less...I thought the car would have done even better.

12-01-06, 09:56 AM
Yea I though close to 400hp would do a big improvement but it didn't. Only thing that interested me about his car was the fact that he had his pcm programmed.

If he really did port and polish the heads, he probably screwed something up on the intakes. It's easy to mess up the swirl and tumble and create nasty stratified charge misfires. So sayeth AWC

I remember that article... Wonder why it never got off the ground... the Tim Allen Designs that is. They only made that one car. Maybe they got wind of the "V's" and called it a day.?.

^^ Good point with the (at then) new Vs.
