View Full Version : Hi new member/owner johnny b uk 11-19-06, 11:14 AM Hi to everyone. my name is john and i live in what some of you affectionately call the 51st state- yep good ole england, home of rolls-royce, bentley, aston martin, ridiculous taxes and the continual harrasment of anything we enjoy- anyway, enough about all that. I am the owner of a company specialising in the restoration of Jensen motor cars, from the mighty chrysler 440 powered interceptor to the humble lotus powered healey. I am nearing my 50th birthday so i remember well the american muscle car era and i am fortunate enough to have owned, in my time, a 1970 bullnosed 455 ho trans-am, a 1969 351 mach1, and a 1970 351 mach1. My passion for american cars has been with me since my childhood days- once you have seen and heard an american v8 launch from the traffic signals- boy your adrenaline takes over and you are hooked  sadly these cars have long since gone to new owners. I presently own a 1976 jensen interceptor and a 1990 mustang 5.0 gt 5 speed which i installed a vortech supercharger on  what a great fun car that is :) Never owned a caddy, all my old mates said they was for grannies-how wrong they all were :tisk: Got married 14 years ago and chose a 1957 pink cadillac as a wedding car-absolutely gorgeous, got hooked on the luxury and sheer ride quality, i promised myself a caddy one day. Got one at last :) a 4.5 liter 1990 seville sts, the ride and quality is equally comparable to the rolls-royce silver shadow i once owned. I absolutely love my new toy, drive it everywhere, dont care about the dic constantly reminding me of the 16mpg average. i am presently reading my way through the threads on this forum and i can see already that i couldn't have chosen a better one :highfive: Boombotz 11-19-06, 11:56 AM Welcome Johnny.

1990 STS? Nice! That was the year of the HO 4.5 and the 4 place seating. Last year they had the 4 place seating, as the 91 STS didn't have it. CadillacGurl 11-19-06, 12:57 PM Welcome Johnny! As Jesda and 90Brougham said please post some pictures of your cars! Greetings and :welcome: to the forum :)

Welcome and hope you enjoy this site as much as we all do!!
lots of people here with alot of knowledge....great fun here! urbanski 11-19-06, 02:43 PM :haha: Phantom&RedGoat2004 11-19-06, 03:50 PM 51st state. Is it Puerto Rico? Guam? No. We don't have one, but between the coices currently present, I'd say I like England the best. The use as much of our tax money as they put in - zero. A lot better than I can say for our bordering countries, and leaching "territories". Welcome to the forum, and I'd love to see some pics of your Caddy.
Side note: One of my dream cars has to be a Corniche Convertible - God bless the British for that. dp102288 11-19-06, 09:28 PM :welcome: to the board. Don't let the Lounge frighten you. We are all usually :alchi: :D
If I remember correctly, doesn't Texas still have the right to divde itself into 5 seperate states, which has to accepted by the fed gov't?

POST OF THE WEEK! :hilarious: TomDeville 11-22-06, 01:35 AM A Warm Welcome To The New English Guy.
TomDeville:cool2: JimHare 11-22-06, 09:54 AM Welcome, Johnny_B, glad to see you found the forum here. As others have noted, there is a fount of information available here, most of it good. As someone else in your age group, I too remember the halcyon days of the 60s and early 70s muscle cars, before the EPA, DOT, NHTSA and other grannies got their hands on them.
Love that Jensen Interceptor - always thought that was a nice looking car.
My Brit entries have ranged from A-H Sprite and MG Midgets to a '73 XK-E convert. Apart from the Lucas electrics, Jolly Old used to make 'interesting' cars...
Cheerio! dp102288 11-22-06, 11:27 PM :welcome: to the new guy...lots of people from England here. Hope to go one day. johnny b uk 11-23-06, 03:19 PM Hi jim hare, good to hear that you loved the muscle car era as much as i and many others did, i am extremely interested in the revival i have seen of late with the mustang, challenger and camaro, hope to see a return of the pony wars, sure would love to live the muscle days again. We did a few interesting things over here namely the jensen interceptor, the 215 buick powered rover and of course, who could forget the little 260 ford powered sunbeam tiger! unfortunately all with Lucas Electrics, ah the good old prince of darkness AlBundy 11-23-06, 06:44 PM Rossie O'Donnell's ass=fill two ballons with mash potatoes and smack that booty. dp102288 11-24-06, 09:38 AM ^^ Excuse me, I have to go :vomit: now. johnny b uk 11-27-06, 04:36 PM Hi dp, is it rosie o donnels extremely curvy booty ( on english cable) that makes you vomit or brit cars with lovely american engines and not so lovely lucas electrics Hi dp, is it rosie o donnels extremely curvy booty ( on english cable) that makes you vomit or brit cars with lovely american engines and not so lovely lucas electrics
I think it's the thought of him in the back seat of a brit car w/ a lovely american engine and his hands stuck to the seat beneath rosie o'donnel's curvy booty.
 johnny b uk 11-27-06, 05:50 PM Interesting scenario CIWS, but i'm not too sure whether rosies booty (bless her) would actually fit in the back seat of a brit car Phantom&RedGoat2004 11-28-06, 05:28 AM Rossie O'Donnell's ass=fill two ballons with mash potatoes and smack that booty.
Not mashed potatoes, cottage cheese...:vomit: She's such a pig.
