Thinking of upgrading sound system in my fleetwood...anyone have any idea on the size of speakers in these cars? 1995 FWB. I have looked all over the place and cannot find anything on the size of the speakers. Thanks in advance! :)

The small speakers are kind of odd sizes in the front door. I wound up taking all 6 of them out and replacing with 10 speakers - 1.5 tweeters in the upper door, 5 1/4 or 5 1/2 (can't remember exactly) in the lower front door. 6" in the rear lower doors, another set of 1.5s on the rear deck, and 10" in the space where the original speakers were in the rear deck. There wasn't a lot of cutting, except for the 6s in the rear doors. Stock head unit, Rockford Fosgate amp in the trunk. Looked totally stock. Nice setup, but I listen to a lot of opera. It might not be as thumpy as a lot of people like.

Thanks for the info! One question though...are the rear doors cut for the speakers like the front already? I am trying to make it without cutting holes that are too major in the car. Also, the tweet panel on the front door in front of the door handle looks as though it would bolt right in place on the back doors, making for a clean look on the back doors for a tweet as well. I am thinking of using the Kenwood Excelon KCD-X890 as my head unit and adding some components (possibly boston, polk, infinity, or Mb quart, whichever I decide later) all around the car with seperate amps (rockford, have alwasy liked rockford, unless someone else has a better idea) for the front and rear speakers, as well as an add on sub amp (rockford as well) and one sub later (???), just for that extra punch.
According to the 1994 factory service manual the rear speakers are 8" round, not 6" rounds as Barrister exclaimed in the post linked above. Not certain who is correct as I have never physically measured mine but just stating what I read in the FSM the other day!
You are probably aware that the rear doors do not have rear speakers installed from the factory...
I'd guess that there are no provisions for speakers (cut-out, room for magnet depth, wiring, etc) but again, I've never had the door panel off so I can't say for sure. The FSM only lists six speakers (rear deck, front doors plus separate tweeters).
Cheers

BCs71:
I don't know if I exclaimed ... (lol) in my previous post, but I did have the removed speakers myself and they were approximately 6" a round ... maybe a bit more. The surround/baffle they were placed in approximated a 6X9 speaker. The mounting surface (both the plastic and the physical opening in the rear deck steel) accepts a 6X9 nicely.
As to the rear doors, I have taken the skins off as I wanted to put speakers in them as well. I thought it would a simple task especially since the window glass does not roll all the way into the door pocket. But it doesn't seem to be enough room for anything bigger than a 4" with cutting. It looks like UNCLLUIE did that and MORE... so I will defer to his experience as to that. I personally decided that it wasn't worth the additional effort to try to make that work as it seemed to require some cutting of metal and reworking the door skins (though it looks like part of the bezel is ready for a speaker (I can't figure GM's thinking most of the time).
Happy Holidays to all ... I hope this was helpful.
