Hey guys, I'm being forced to sell my '98 to pay for some college. That is the ONLY reason. The cooling system has been done, new brakes, new tires, 75k miles, the valve covers have been tightened down, all recalls done. I had a GM mechanic offer me $8500 but he said it would be awhile before he can get the money. So, I'd take less if you can get it to me quicker.

Even if you're not interested, tell me what YOU would pay for the car so I have a rough idea.

This is only my opinion, but anyone that knows about all the problems with these year cars, and would pay over $3000, is crazy. Even then they know they're gonna get stuck with problems, even if the car has none now. I know, I have one!

Man if the guy will pay you $8500 I would move mountains to take him up on the offer. Get a substantial down payment from the guy to lock him in; then go for a bridge loan until he comes up with the rest of the money - at which point he gets your Catera and the title.

I follow Catera prices, actual prices not book prices.

I would not pay five grand for your car. Nothing personal, just MH view.

So if you've got a sucker at $8500 take ALL the advantage you can. Man, it is your LUCKY day!

For that kind of money I can easily buy a nice 2001 Sport with lower miles than you have.

Good luck.:)
