Hey all,

Well, a while ago I posted a question about buying a 76 Fleetwood. After sitting on the fence for awhile, we (me and the wife) took the plunge and bought it. We're picking it up tomorrow - can't wait!

Will post pics soon... but here's the scoop on the car...

76 Fleetwood - 90,000 miles
Body - excellent condition with a fresh paint job (star dust silver)

Interior - new headliner, carpet, panels, seats everything is in great condition
with minor exception to the dash board (small crack).

Electrics - Everything works with the exception of the cruise control

Mechanically - Very good! Had it up on a lift & you could eat off of it. No
leaks, starts right up & sounds smooth! Only known issue is
the AC - doesn't work.

I'm installing an alarm system in it tomorrw & it'll hit the streets as a daily driver starting Monday!

Great find! Enjoy. I love that year for Cadillacs. As big as it is, hope no one hits it or dings it in a parking lot.

To me, there is no better ride on the earth. You will own the road.

Congratulations! Welcome to the club. Even though I'm more of a DeVille man when it comes to the '76s, yours sounds gorgeous.

Thanks Guys!

Yeah - we're pyched!

We stumbled on it at a local car show that my fire dept throws every year. My wife has been wanting a classic for some time, and really remebers her fathers 1977 Caddy. She's been dying to get one like it & now has one to call her own (she really deserves it!).

When she saw this one in the field she found what she was looking for. This thing is H U G E !!! It's bigger than my Expedition, and damn near weighs the same! It's a very cool car that drove smooth when we took it out for a test ride.

Thanks for the welcome again! Will be posting pics soon, and I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions about it.

A '76 Brougham was my first Caddy too. I loved her so; as I'm sure you will yours. Welcome and congrats on your new classic!

Outstanding car, so many classic Cadillac styling touches. I especially like the way the B-piller goes between the side windows like on the original 1938-1941 Sixty Sepcials. The great thing about these cars is, even after 30 years, their contempory styling could let them pass for new, if they're well-kept.

Enjoy, and welcome to the club!!

May I echo: Welcome.
That 1976 Fleetwood brings back memories of the company I worked for that had a couple of them and used them - literally - as buses.:thehand:
On the road constantly, 2 or 300 miles per day or more, every day. :bouncy:
They were so well loved (not just liked) by the drivers as well as the passengers, that the company did something unheard of: They re-motored them when they had 300,000 miles on them and kept them until, at least 1983.
Considering how chintzy the bean counters could be, I guess there was just too much hollering about getting rid of those huge boats.:tisk:
The ride was fantastic, yet the chauffeurs could whip those beasts through NYC traffic like they were sports cars and do it without slamming the passengers around.
Enjoy your "new" Cadillac. Sounds like she's a keeper.:)

Too true! I had to fill in for a "family escort car" with my '76 while I worked part time for a funeral home. We had an '83 Coach, an '88 Limo, and a '92 lead car, but my '76 looked right at home among them in a persession.
