: Convince LittleD (heh - Danielle) to get a CTS...

Lord Cadillac

Okay. I'm about to go get my first drive in a Cadillac CTS. It's a loaner while my ESV is being serviced.. Anyway.. So I asked Danielle if she liked it.. Well, she said it had no torque.. So I said, "Well, I guess we'll have to get a CTS-V then" - and she was like - "yeah, right - $50,000".. So she asked - well couldn't we make it fast with mods? I said, "yeesss....."...

So help me convince her to get a CTS instead of a Lincoln Navigator (which is first on her list - and I must admit - I like it too). But, of course, I'd prefer she gets a Caddy...

Thanks in advance!

Don't give up, CTS-V all the way !!!!!! Find one with approx 12-15K miles in certified pre-owner and they're 32-35K

Unless Cadillac really dialed down the 3.6 CTS since I bought my 04, it should have plenty of torque. A Volant and V exhaust will help.

Trust me, the CTS backseat works too LOL. My man is a big guy, and we manage just fine :eyebrow:

Danielle....also it's nice to have a car and an SUV. Sal already got the SUV sooooooo you should get a CTS, or STS etc....If you have two SUV's then you won't have a car when you are going somewhere where parking is tight, or when you wanna save on gas.

Because if if Danielle can see through the subtle subliminal messages being posted in this thread, she will realize that the BIG choice is the CTS-V with it's 400HP and BIG 395 lbs of Torque. :D

I am intrigued by the XLR sex theory. We...uh....tried in the Porsche and that damned shifter gets in the way of the pleasure.

But on the upside, if some night she isn't in the mood just slip a rubber on the shifter of the XLR and let her have at it- it'll probably be the same experience:D. Not that we've ever tried that.....no.....nope.....never

he'll wreck it trying to get it into the shipping crate... better off buying a used V somewhere.:) seriously, a 3.6 CTS with a Volant and exhaust will help alot in the torque department but i bet she drove a 2.8. test drive a 3.6!

Lord Cadillac
01-06-07, 12:27 PM
Just a little update on an old subject.. We had a 2007 CTS 2.8 for a few days while my Escalade ESV was being serviced.. Now Danielle is ready to turn her Lexus RX in for a CTS.. We still need to come up with some down payment money - so probably in about 6 months, we'll be a "Cadillac" family. :) I hope she doesn't change her mind.. I'm even thinking we may be lucky enough to slip into a V6 STS.. Regardless, it looks like a Cadillac is in her future... Finally! Any help with convincing would be appreciated. :p

CadillacGurl

Congrats Sal and Danielle. You guys better post pictures the of the new baby of the family! :D

That's great! Very glad to hear it. Wow maybe an STS huh??

Lord Cadillac
01-06-07, 09:58 PM
We'll have to see.. It depends on the funds situation.. She's been driving around a Lexus ES350 the last couple of days now - and likes that too. It's very powerful. Quick car. But, it doesn't handle like the CTS - and that's the kicker.. The ES is a very luxurious car, however.. All I need to do is get her a ride in a 3.6 CTS and I think she'll forget all about the ES - which she's really not all that crazy about anyway.. Good stuff..

Jesda
01-06-07, 10:00 PM
The ES seems a lot more female-friendly, with its snazzy interior, cruising silence, and soft surfaces. But Danielle is too young for that!

Lady Danielle
01-06-07, 10:03 PM
I like torque and handling.....but a comfortable interior. Cant I combine the both!

Lord Cadillac
01-06-07, 10:03 PM
Indeed she is.. :) She used to drive sports cars (had a few firebirds, a trans am and an LSC) but is a little weary of abusing the power and getting ticketed.. :p That's the ONLY reason she's considering the ES - but I reallly doubt that's going to happen. I asked her, "How often will you turn around and look at the ES before you walk into a store?". As opposed to the CTS - and she agreed...

Lord Cadillac
01-06-07, 10:04 PM
Danielle.. You weren't too comfortable in the CTS then? Maybe you need a 2008. :p That'll have a more comfortable interior...

CadillacGurl
01-06-07, 10:10 PM
Maybe an XLR? Lot of head room :D

Lord Cadillac
01-06-07, 10:15 PM
Yeah.. Right. :p Danielle DOES love the XLR. But that's not happened any decade soon. Maybe we'll get an old beat up one in the distant future. :o

Definately try the 3.6 model, I usually try and request those for the loaners over the 2.8s (which I'll have to get one tomorrow as they take my V for a few days to send the wheels out to be polished). I haven't seen one in person, but I've heard the 2007 SRX interior will give one a good idea what's coming in the 08 CTS.

I still say she needs a V :D

Lord Cadillac

Probably far more expensive than a CTS, right?

Probably far more expensive than a CTS, right?

Roughly the same. They start at about $32k for the 328i (230hp 2.8L) or about $38k for a 335i (300hp TT 3.0L).

http://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/3/

At this point I honestly would suggest waiting to buy a CTS until after the redesign. While dealers are more likely to deal, the depreciation is going to be horrible once the new one is revealed on Monday.

Yes you can! :D

Hold out a few months and get the new CTS!
The more I see and hear of it, the more I am sold on it.
If it's priced anywhere near what the original was, it will be in a class of it's own. Beautiful car. :)

The new interior and 300hp direct injection V6 should take care of your two concerns with the current one.

Elvis
01-08-07, 05:17 PM
I'd strongly advise against any BMW, unless you can buy a new one and dump it before it gets out of warranty.

I really like the ES too. The CTS is growing on me, but I'm falling on love with the STS.
