another question ETC....I have a sirius S50 and dock and all that...will that hook directly into the HU i have or just might as well get the hardwired unit.

i think youd need a cassette tape adapter
yuh it will work
but im an audio advisor
and i advise that the quality (which is why your buying sat radio) will be low and therefore id recommend the add on unit to the factory hu rather than the cassette adapter.

...my info may be of no use, but I installed the satelite radio in my moms car with the FM modulator and it sounds decent until high volumes. I would say add-on to the factory unit so you can let everyone at the light listen to Howard Stern :-p.

well the s50 has a built in FM transmitter but I would sort of like to hardwire it and not use the mount. I want to mount it semi-permanent in the car.

I just bought it last night...is the install pretty straight forward....I use to install radios in the 90's but not too sure how much changed!
